Nice day Carboot and Hive :) dirty cheap.
Took it home like own son. But noticed that is a duel channel one and I have a combi. At home old termostat had only 2 wires. Blue and brown. All bits conncted Receiver works like a charm. But the boiler stays silent. Hot water fine. Just a heating. Just not there. Tried connect both wires to l3 and l4 Linked L and 1 and brown or blue to 3 or 4 no luck. Old termostad had no power at all Just on off knob. Loosing my hope. I have Ideal combi 30 boiler and dual Hive. Anyone pls ?? Help :(

With the dual channel programmer the permanent live supplies 3 and 4 with power when zone 1 or hw is turned on.
The single channel is slightly different. Usually the common gets its power from another source (boiler), not the programmer. But in this instance linking live to common will do the job. With the single channel, when zone 2 is turned on the common will supply 3 with power.

So, this is all guesswork without knowing more details of your system but I'm guessing if you have two wires to your current stat then one will be live and the other switch live. When the thermostat makes it will make the switch live 'live' and turn the heating on.
With the dual hive, you have the L will be common and then the switch live you want is number 4. However, the Hive needs to have a live and neutral which by the sounds of things you don't have?
