So with the threat of imminat court proceedings, the other guys insurnace has acceoted liability and settled on top of the 2.2k i got coe the bike they've offered 4.5k for gear, injuries and uninsured losses

Well happy, most of all just feel vindicated that it wasnt my fault as the witneses back up.

So right blackbird shopping time ^_^

I think I missed this. What happened?

back in June, on the m62 around 4pm mid week so busy traffic on my vfr800

tootling along in the outside lane (65-70mph). he joins at the junction then goes across all 3 lanes in one go and pulls into my lane barely a car length in front, car in started breaking as someone was moving in in front of them he has to slam on to avoid rear ending them, cause he's booted it to cross the lanes, i brake like **** but cant quite make it and go into the back off him.

me and the bike slide across all the lanes to hard shoulder had to crawl the last bit with a truck coming locked up. the truck driver statement was funny "i didn't see the accident but i had to slam on to avoid running your client over" :D he also said he was just about to swerve into the hard shoulder before he saw me start crawling.

bike was wrote off (engine case ground through) i've got a little scar on my leg, pants didn't tear or anything but the material inside gave me a graze/friction burn as it went down with the bike on top of it, John doe cargo pants i very much recommend.

he had a tiny dent in his bumper from my wheel.

van driver in the middle lane who saw it was the witness and he said he cut me up then braked and i couldn't do anything.

he's been denying liability since, but we've just done all the court paperwork and were ready to go, i was expecting this letter to be court dates when they decided to settle.

he said "he knew the braking distances for bikes" (and so left me enough room) because he had just bought a Harley sportster because he liked sons of anarchy so much....

reasonably priced low mileage, LHSD engine cover looks like the paint is chipped.

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classif...2jq&radius=1500&page=4&sort=default&logcode=p

higher milage, but looks mint and has a wing rack already fitted bit pricier

^both my fave paint colour

more expensive but much newer and very low milage, no extra features and good bue less cool paint colour

What are your uninsured losses? Its good to hear even though it took time the outcome was favourable :) he sounds like an utter ballshivaking tool! Wasnt an audi/bmw was it

Fiesta st with the mount tune upgrades.

Gear, helmet gloves pants etc
Days pay
Injury (scarring)
Loss of enjoyment, missed my bike holiday.

Thats another stereotype there too.

Its amazing how one persons mindless actions can impact so greatly on anothers life Im happy you got this settled with an outcome your happy with

He was lucky it was a bike he did it too a shunt from a car or a van could have fish tailed him across the lanes

Any idea on handling ive heard its not as nimble as the blackbird (which is fairly hefty itself) also how do kawasaki hold up to all year long ridings in the rain and general crap.

It's carbon fibre wrap, good in a way as it stops any stone chips

Aslong as the paintwork underneath is ok

yeah that was my thinking, theres a few little touches on that one, looks like its got a proper rear hugger, the blacked out indicators etc.

the other just looks completely standard

Blackbirds are awesome

So good to have a bike again. Ill get pics up once ive taken it to all year biker in the next week or two.
