Thanks if you take the time to spec this up. Basic Info:

Must be less than £1275

Needs an i7 2600k (I've been told these are awesome for rendering in Sony Vegas, which I do a lot, although, if i5's do the job nearly as well then awesome)
Needs Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit
Needs 1920x1080 Monitor
Needs a reasonable keyboard and mouse

Preferrably (although not necessarily) would also have an SSD+HDD combo and/or a soundcard (although an inbuilt MOBO seems to suffice nowadays and I could upgrade easily later on)

Thank you, all the best,
James

P.s. if there is an appropriate Overclockers pre-build which looks good, then that would be good.

my friend uses Sony Vegas 10 quite a bit and has found that it doesn't really use hyperthreading that much. He or I haven't had a chance to play with 11 yet (£££ :() but that does have better GPU acceleration than 10.

which do you use?

this the above in mind I popped this together:

YOUR BASKET
1 x MSI GeForce GTX 570 OC Twin FrozR III Power Edition 1280MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card **Supplied with FREE Batman: Arkham City PC game** £269.99

1 x IIyama Prolite E2473HDS 24" Widescreen LED Monitor - Black £149.99
1 x MSI Z68A-GD55-G3 Intel Z68 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard £124.99

1 x OcUK 22x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black) - OEM £13.98
Total : £1,265.87 (includes shipping : £22.20).

nVidia GPU for CUDA support, motherboard and PSU can handle another one if you need it for gaming purposes. (Vegas doesn't support SLi)(But it does support OpenCL so an AMD can be used if you prefer)
8GB or RAM - all vegas seems to need.
24" screen and a decent mouse keyboard combo.

if not going sli/xfire than not really need 850w, a 650w will be sufficient(might just about handle 560ti/6950 sli/xfire).

modular(tho 750w should be fine for sli unless you go 580 sli) for the same price as the non-modular 850w

not sure how it compares to the more expensive

or if not wanting sli/xfire(tho a 650w as said should jut about be able to handle it)

1. I've actually been using Vegas 9, however its been on an i3m 2.13ghz, so basically anything will be a vast improvement, I was just wondering if the i7 gave a large reduction in render times, which is worth the extra £90. What about with games, is it worth the premium...?

2. How loud will this thing be? I was origionally going to get a 6950, I hear the 570 is a bit of a squealer.

3. Will the mobo's USB 3.0 ports be on the back of the case?

4. How does this case compare to this: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-057-CS

It seems like the Z9 is used in a lot of budget builds and I don't really want to cut corners, same goes for the CPU cooler. :/

unless you plan on over 4.6ghz the gelid(along with the corsair a50, cm hyper 212+ which are all ~£25) give cooling/noise performance which compares to more expensive coolers( a couple/few oC here or there unless you go for say a noctua d14/thermalright silverarrow which are over double the price).

can't say what the differences between the cases is(other then cost), think the carbide will giver better cooling overall(all down to your budget).

the usb 3.0 will be on the back of the case unless there is connector on the motherboard for conntecting a couple of the usb3.0 to the usb3.0 on the front of compatible cases, can't say as not ued the mb.

if you are using the cpu for rendering rather than the gpu then there is a small difference but nothing to shout about, gaming there is next to none. (no games use hyperthreading)
So if you can fit it in the budget then go for it, but I wouldn't put it in there at the expense of another component as you are going to see a huge improvement from your mobile chip.

the twin frozr cooler is one of the best and quietest coolers you can find. My friend says that Vegas 9 doesn't use GPU's at all so it'll be your choice on gpu for gaming:
Comparison

Z9 maybe used in some budget builds but its a great case and the fan controller will make it as loud or quiet as you like.
I've heard good things about the Carbide:

And the cooler is very good!! next step up is either a closed loop water cooler or the silver arrow or nh-d14

Well its just that, although I'm not allowed to link you to the site, I have this offer from another, very reputable and secure online retailer:

Intel Core i7-2600K 3.40GHz@ 4.5GHz
Corsair H60 Water-Cooling CPU Cooler
MSI ATI Radeon HD 6950 Twin FrozR II OC 2048MB
8GB Mushkin Blackline 1600 MHz
750W Corsair TX750 V2
1TB Seagate Barracuda HDD
64GB Crucial M4 SSD
MSI Z68A-GD55-G3 Intel Z68
Corsair Carbide 500R
Windows 7 Home Premium 64Bit
Sony SH-S222AB/BEBE DVD ReWriter

All actually built up and delivered for £1275
Is that beatable from anywhere? Because I'm not allowed to build my own rig (My parents DO NOT trust me I've done my best to persuade. :P )

Also comes with a complementary DiRT 3... which wouldn't hurt.

But anyway, back on topic, I hate to be so rude as to seem like I'm ignoring your advice. What do you know about the H60, nice noise level?
