Yet Another BenQ 120hz + GPU Q

Sorry, I know this must be repeated time after time but no single thread created before answers my query.

So I'm in the market for upgrading my rig except for my Sandybridge CPU and MOBO.

In essence I've decided on everything except for monitor and GPU.

So I was thinking of a semi decent IPS panel but when push comes to shove I'd really prefer the smoothness of a 120hz monitor above all else for my Friday night gaming sessions.

So what's the difference (except in price ) between the BenQ Benq XL2411T and the XL2420T ?

I really aren't bothered about 3D I just want that feeling of smoothness when I move my mouse like back in the good old days of CRT.

To power this would a MSI 660ti Power Edition be enough to achieve over the 60 fps on most modern games or would I have to up the ante to a 670 ?
Seriously not bothered about ATi as micro stutter scares me.

Thanks guys.

I would say its worth upping the ante a bit on the GPU if your purposefully going for a 120Hz panel - however I'm using a GTX675m (laptop) clocked to roughly desktop GTX560ti performance connected to my BenQ XL2420T and aslong as I don't go nuts on the AA (often using FXAA in games that properly support it) most modern games still get around 50fps with ultra settings at 1920x1080 so 660ti should mostly manage fine.

Main difference between the 11T and 20T is the level of cusomisation available through the monitor's menu and the 20T has a control box as part of the stand for changing monitor settings with a scroll wheel that makes it a lot easier to change settings than trying to mess about with the side panel buttons.

Regarding the BenQ - while they are great gaming monitors I'm less than convinced by them for general useage - the colors while bright and vivid aren't the most accurate even by TN standards and with the combination of that and the natural hue of the LED backlight which is quite harsh the is results in not the most easy on the eyes of panels to look at for extended non-gaming useage (tho this will probably depend a bit person to person).

I bought a 11t today from OCUK. I think it's a cracking monitor, however you will have to tweak it a little, I used the settings from PCM ( I think that's his name ). Once you've done this then I think it's perfectly fine for every day usage, and it's great for gaming.
