Hey,
I'm a long time lurker and I've been reading up on finally building a PC.
I'm looking for some light (Oblivion, KOTOR, and some Source games) gaming and watching HD video. With that in mind, how is this build? (Be gentle) ;)
I have a keyboard and mouse :)

CPU: Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor
MB : Asrock H67M Intel H67 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Micro-ATX Motherboard - (Sandybridge)
RAM: Corsair Value 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-10666C9 1333MHz Low Voltage Dual-Channel Kit
PSU: OCZ ModXStream Pro 700w Silent SLI Certified Modular Power Supply
Gfx: MSI GeForce GTS 450 Cyclone 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card
Case: Antec 100 One Hundred Ultimate Gaming Case
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500GB SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM

Am I over/under spec'd, I have a feeling that all but the gfx and RAM may be over what I need...

Thanks :)

4GB of ram is standard now a days
Light gaming yeah your graphics card is probably fine, I'd upgrade to a 460 if it were up to me (for the £40-50), or look at an ATI one (not much knowledge on the ATI's).

The real issue here as I see it is whether you want to overclock or not. I MAY be wrong here, but as far as I am aware the H67 motherboards you can't overclock with. So you'd be needing a P67. If you don't plan on overclocking however go for a standard i5-2500 as you don't need the k version if you're not going to overclock.

Extra parts you may want.....
Operating System? May or may not already have one.. but if not 64bit Windows 7.
CPU cooler - keep the CPU nice and cool :)
Optical Drive - DVD's... If you want to watch HD Videos you may want to get a blu-ray drive, - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CD-140-SA

KD is correct about the motherboard, if you want to overclock then go for a P67 board, and you'll probably need an aftermarket cooler. If not, stick with the H67 board, drop down to an i5-2500 (the K is unnecessary) and you'll be good.

Your PSU is a long way over requirement- even overclocked and with a really good graphics card, you'll struggle to push a 500W PSU.

As for the graphics card, my recommendation would either be an ATI 5770, or a second hand 4850/4870 as they offer similar performance rather cheaply (although power consumption is higher than the 5770).

Yeah, I've got a family pack of Windows 7 left so no need for OS :)
Overclocking would be nice, but I'm afraid money takes priority so I've switched down to the 2500 and kept the same MB.
I've looked at the XFX ATI Radeon HD 5770 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card and the reviews - on site - seem to say that the sort of games that I'll be playing work great :)
And for the PSU, is this okay? OCZ StealthXStream 2 500W Power Supply
And I've got a Blu Ray drive that I can get from a friend.

Thanks :)
