Yet another EBAY question......

My wife has just taken delivery of a coat she bought on EBAY. It was listed as "Brand New Without Tags".

It arrived today and she was shocked to find it had what appeared to be pubic hair and also animal hair on it. She is pretty grossed out by this and doesn't think even if she had it dry cleaned she could bring herself to wear it.

The seller had listed the item as "no returns". How should my wife handle this. She wants to return it but doesn't want to be left out of pocket through no fault of her own.

She could probably the argue that due to the condition of the coat, it's not described accurately. Ebay might ask you to return the coat and you'll have to pay for postage which includes signed for delivery.

If your concerns are genuine then contact the buyer first, if you don't get a reply you're happy with open an item not as described (INAD) case against them with eBay.

Regardless if they accept returns or not if you claim it was not as described you will likely get a refund with or without having to return the item first. From what I've read on the eBay community forums it's nigh on impossible for a seller to win a INAD claim.

My wife has no problem returning the coat. She just doesn't want to be left out of pocket over this.

I wouldn't rush in to opening a case without talking to the seller first. It may be a genuine mistake on their part, and often sellers will value their 100% positive feedback more than the return postage for an item you're not happy with.

Evident pervert getting pleasure from sending his pubes in the post.

I read an article in the Telegraph a while back about "trashed shoes" being sold on EBAY. It appears to be code for foot fetishists. Do a search and check out some of the pictures (and the prices for shoes)

Check out this listing :

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Trashed-w...59058?pt=UK_Women_s_Shoes&hash=item4ad0e83632

"School teacher's worn, trashed shoes. Size 7. Will be cleaned according to ebay regulations before dispatching."

Shoes being cleaned according to eBay specifications or manufacturers specifications I think is some sort of kinky code....ewww..

EDIT : Found the article on the Telegraph

I see a possible new section for the MM.

Trashed Computer Parts

Example :

1 Trashed GeForce 780 Graphics card. This card has been really put through the wringer and I have used it for many ALL-NIGHT gaming sessions. Card will be cleaned to your own personal requirements.

I sold my bike saddle on ebay and thought I'd make the listing appeal to the pervs out there, so I put in the listing that it was removed from my girlfriends bike. It ended up being sold for more than a new one as two guys had a bidding war for it :D.

Well surely dry cleaning a coat with pubes and animal hair on it was never going to be an option considering u bought it ''brand new'' lol.

I think we are going off topic.

Can we try and keep this discussion to the oddballs buying and selling stuff on eBay for sexual kicks.

Sorry to go back to the coat.

The seller has responded pretty much immediately. They have offered a full refund and apologised profusely. They have said it was actually a friend selling the coat using their account. They have asked my wife to return the coat to this person. It all sounds a bit fishy to me.

Probably smells the same.
