Yet another epic fail on the Kraken G10!

Although not as extreme as Robzere31 killing two cards (probably due to lack of vrm sink and overheating), the Corsair H105 that I bought together with Kraken G10 cannot be installed on my 290x, despite NZXT clearly listing it compatible.

The issue is quite clear...the mount holes on the bracket for the AMD cards that are positioned closest to inner circle of where the pump would mount are added/drilled as an afterthought. A AIO such as the H55 would probably won't have any issue, because of the cap of the pump being a simple round shape:

...the H105's (and probably H75's as well) cap of the pump however with the 3 edges sticking out:

...would physically BLOCKING the nuts from fitting onto the four screws in the AMD mount holes

I have no idea why NZXT would list the Kraken G10 as compatible with with the Corsair H105 (it won't fit for AMD cards at least).

Considering the G10 is clearly not fit for purpose, would I be able to get a refund for it despite outside of DSR period? (bought it from OcUK two weeks ago at £29.99 and only got time to to install today...missed the £5 off on last week's sale as well :o)

I got the H105 for the sole purpose of to use with the G10 and 290x. I don't think I will return it (probably can't anyway), so what are my opinions?

a) Use it on my 2500K (have just installed a SilverArrow on it...would hate to take it out and just leave it lying around), keep the G10 and get a Corsair H55?

b) Lay the H105 aside for now and wait for Corsair HG10?

Robzere31, you crazy *******!! That was a good Sapphire card I sold you :(

FFS, just stick to a good AIB air cooler like I have :p
Wrong thread you in I think lol

Although I myself have the sense to install vrm sink to use with the G10 (if I could bloody mount it!), I have to say for most of the G10 installation videos I've seen on youtube, almost everyone seem to install it without any vrm sink.

Option a) marine.

Bit sad to hear this as I was buying bits to do the same. So far got the sinks just biding my time for the pump/rad and G10.

Issue with option a is that I would have two CPU air coolers lying around doing nothing lol

So I think rather then spending extra to get a H55, it may probably make more sense wait for the Corsair HG10 bracket (AMD version is said to be available soon) and mount my H105.

Ahh didn't know about the HG10 but certainly got my attention now. Can you not sell the two spare coolers?

Is your card ref? Might only fit ref pcbs (like waterblocks). Otherwise that sucks. But if you want to go water then go the whole hog imo, not those silly AIO units :p

That's what I'm planning to do next year. Given up on the idea of AIO cooler for the GPU. The Kraken G10 is not fit for purpose IMO, sold as it is without heatsinks for the Vrms. Surely NZXT know this is a problem.

sorry! Lol
Although the stock cooler was like a bloody jet engine when I tried it out!
