Its been almost 4 years since i last built my pc ( in Sig ) and its starting to show its age when i do multiple photo stacking and editing, so i have decided to bite the bullet and build a new system.

it will be used mainly for photo/video work and occasional gaming, it will be expected to last another four years and have enough speed and storage to last me that long.

Below is what i have looked at but i will admit to being a bit behind the times with specs.

how does it look and can it be improved for my budget £3000

i have looked at the two ssd drive set up as one for OS/Programs and the other as my work horse

That Case and board are incompatible. The Phanteks Mini XL supports micro atx and mini itx boards. The board you have selected is a full size ATX.

I think you are overspending on a few things.

A 650W is plenty for a single card setup. I assume you are not planning on SLI ?

If you don't need an 8 core cpu, then the 5820K offers better value than the 5930K for your needs.

Did you want the Phanteks Mini XL case ?

Thanks for the replies Lee

Not to fussed on the case, just had a look at a few and thought it looked nice, lol

in regards the CPU, just wanted something out of the box with enough power to last until i upgrade in maybe 3/4 years time so the 5960x would be a nice upgrade

thanks for the browser info :-)

I think the 5960x will last a few more years than that! I wouldn't expect any less for the money you're spending ;)

Yeah, i think i will go for the 5960x as i feel it will last so much longer due to the eight cores and it should run photoshop nice and smooth, lol

also this will be my first extreme processor so another target crossed off my list :-)

thanks for the advice, time to break open that credit card again, lol
