Hi all,
Tried OC'ing my 920 c0 today, looked at a few guides and on here.
Had a few BSOD's all 101, staged from stock 2.67ghz through 3.4ghz, 3.6ghz to my goal of 3.8ghz
Now I'm on VCore of 1.32, with a BLCK of 181 and its giving me a stable, so far, speed of 3.8ghz. In terms of cooling I'm getting mid 30s idle and mid 70s on load in Prime95 after 30ms. It cools back down to mid 30s after half a minute of stopping Prime 95 (this is an aircooled CPU, Noctua NH-u21P, case an Antec 902). At stock speeds, this idled at 29ishc.
My own opinion is the PC is running better, I tried a few games like Fallout 3 Empire Total War and they all seem a bit smoother.
I'm happy with how far I got, so my question, is this a reasonable set of results tempwise to stick at (given the weather)? Is that vcore excessive for a 4 year old C0 or should I back off?
Cheers,
L.
