Yet another one needing advice on a mobo

Hey everyone,
needed to consult some experienced PC builders so I came here. So long story short - finally time to update my PC. By update I mean give my old one to some relatives and build a new one from scratch. I had it all planned out - was gonna use the Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD5H mobo, but after reading the forums and reviews about all the problems I started wondering if that is really a good choice.
The PC would be an average gaming rig: i5 3570k, 8 GB Ram, 128GB SSD, probably a GTX580 (might go SLi later), Corsair AX850, some 1Tb HDDs and such.

My question would be: Have the problems with the UD5H gone away with the latest BIOS updates? Or would I be knowingly stepping into a mine field by buying this mobo?

I like the connections that this board has, also the mSata looks interesting, but if it's still "a might work fine or might be a nightmare" situation maybe I'd be better off buying some Asus board.

A second question would be: If I'm going to use an SSD as my boot drive is there any point in buying an mSata SSD for caching? Would it add anything?

tl;dr
Does Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD5H now work properly or is it not worth buying?
Is an mSata SSD worth buying when you already use an SSD as a boot drive?

In answer to you second question. I believe you will see no benefit of using a mini SSD over a standard SSD on its own. It's designed so you can gain the boot performance and utilise Intels fast boot systems, if you're just using mechanical drives
