I apolgise, since I can imagine there's loads, but I'm looking to build a couple of systems based somewhere around the following:
Intel e7500 or e8500 ish
AMD Athlon II x4 630 ish or Phenom II x2 555 ish
1x 7200rpm 500gb hard drive (maybe another in the future)
1x DVD rewriter
Possibly up to an ATI 6470 but more than likely a 5450
2gb RAM
Windows XP (because I a couple of legit copies spare I can use)
I did call up OC sales to ask and they said a good 500w/550 would do fine, but I thought I'd see what ppl here thought aswell, it would be appreciated. I really don't know what the systems may be used for so I really wanted a safe PSU thats not going to over heat or catch fire by leaving it on 24x7 - it's just so confusing with some being 20a on the 12v some being 16a? some being dual rail with like 12 and 14a. I've built my own for years (from ocuk) but I've always bought expensive branded ones. I dont really want to be spending 50% of the budget on a PSU :s
Would a OCZ CoreXtreme 500w '80 Plus' or a Cooler Master Elite Power 500W do? As they're about the right price, the next step to a 550w seems more expensive and Im wondering if its needed..
