Current Rig :

AMD Athlon XP 2600+
ABIT NF7
1GB of DDR
ATi Radeon 9700 PRO
Dell Ultrasharp 2405FPW & Samsung 181T
+ Lost of differnt HDD's

Its fantastic super stable over the last few years. Time for a replacement!

I play Battlefield2, City of heros/villains and my 9700 pro doesn’t cut the mustard at 1920*1200 so I need an upgrade.

Dual core looks like the way to go and I’ve seen the 50% overclock stories about the 805 which looks good for a cheap chip, but would a X2 be better? ive always been an AMD man!

So I have £600-800 to spend or a bit more if its worth it. On a GFX Card, Motherboard, CPU, Memory and Heatsink+Fan ( Preferable as quite as possible, keep the GF happy  )

On board 6.1 optical sound would be good to as my current nforce 2 mobo sound quality is fantastic in my own opinion.

Sata only is fine but a single ata port would be good if its not a comprimise

What do you all think?
Cheers.

You could check out my signature. I built this recently and while it is not top of the range, it seems to play anything I throw at it. The 3700 is simple and very effective at overclocking, as is the 7800GT. The whole lot set me back around £600. :)

Thanks for that fender. My Current ram is PC3200 Cas 3, so i should be able to get away with using that. Ram speeds havent moved on much in the last few years then.
