Yet Another Spec Me Thread

Afternoon all.

I am currently thinking about splashing out on a new system in the new year. At the moment I have three conditions that I would like the system to have:

1. Has to be extremely quiet.

2. Futureproof

3. I would like to be able to use my 32" TV as a monitor for simple tasks such as web browsing. All Gaming would still use my monitor.

I am looking to spend about £700 quid if possible. I already have all the periphals, so just need a hardware spec.

Am I right in thinking you're going to have dual display, a 32 inch telly, as well as a monitor? What resolution is the monitor?

The current monitor is a gateway 19", so I reckon the resolution is 1440x900. Can't actually look at the moment, since the monitor is being stored at university.

It wont be a dual display as such, I would using the monitor for gaming, whilst the Tv would be used for web browsing and office tasks.

Anyone have any ideas? Would a 4850 card be sufficient in this instance?

Just to add, I would be switching between the two, so would not have both tv and monitor on at the same time

i have read enough about the 4850 to believe it would be enough for the resolution you want to use mate

i'm slightly baffled as to why you feel you want to use the TV screen though? is it just because its bigger?
