I'm looking to get back into PC gaming after spending the last few years on PS3/4.
Given that my old PC (now dead) was last upgraded in 2004, and my newest computer is the 2007 MacBook I'm typing this out on, I'm more than a little out of date.
The only CPU/GPU-intensive stuff the PC would be for is gaming and video-encoding, and I'd aim to double it up as a home media server, so a decent amount of storage would also be desirable. Given how old all my other stuff is, I'm looking at a complete upgrade including monitor and OS, but I wouldn't need speakers. My budget is about £1200 for everything. I'd also want OC to assemble it as I'm pretty rusty in that department too.
Reading around the forums, there are a few bits and pieces of new hardware hitting the market soon. I don't need to upgrade immediately, so in my price range, would there be any significant benefit in holding on another couple of months?
Thanks for any suggestions!
