Yet Another Upgrade Thread!

So after some looking around at benches and forum posts I noticed the FX 6350. Is this processor as viable as an alternative or is it only worth it if I go for FX 8320?

Also would the 6350 end up bottlenecking the HD 7970/50?

As a side note, managed to push my X4 to 3.8 whether that makes any difference when it comes to upgrading the GPU now and CPU/MB later?

Don't consider the 6350. It's barely any cheaper than the 8320. The 8320 has the advantage of two more cores, which will make a big difference in many current and future games.

People are getting great results with overclocks on the 8320/50s lately. With air cooling you should manage at least 4.5GHz as long as you get a decent board (e.g. the Asus EVO R2.0).

There's a thread in the CPU forum discussing OCing the 8320/50 at the moment that you might find interesting.
