yet another vista install problem:(

got vista x64 home premium today over the counter at OCUK.
got it home and started my installation, everything seemed to be going well until the picture went all fuzzy!
tried again and it did the same thing...
it does it during installation @ around 50% of expanding files...
i unplugged everything usb except my logitech g15 and mx510 and still the problem occurs

tried swapping sata ports on my 680i and installing to the second HDD's primary partition, but to no avail...
the only thing i havent tried is flashing with the latest bios.
any help would be much appreciated, my spec is in sig.

Did you install RC2 before hand and did you have any issues with that?

not installed any version of vista since i got my 8800gtx and evga680i...

updated the bios from p22 to p24 and it gets alittle further but does the same thing

any suggestions?

I see in your sig that you are running somewhat over clocked. Have you tried installing Vista64 either slower or at stock?

I cannot run XP64 quite as fast as XP32. Might be worth a try?

doing it now

seems to be working fine, well i say that, i had a few issues of it hanging before it started installing, i then took out my tv tuner, usb card and primary HDD with MCE2k out and now seems ok.... touch wood.
