I'm looking for sub £200 24" for my planned new system and have narrowed it down to these three:-

Iiyama ProLite B2409HDS 24" Widescreen LCD Monitor - Black

Samsung P2450H 24" Widescreen LCD Monitor - Glossy Black

BenQ EW2420 24" Widescreen LED Monitor - Black

Main use wil be gaming (FSX & 9) and some photo editing (nothing special or too critical) plus the usual web surfing etc.

I was ordering earlier today but missed the special offer and could have saved £10 any how i going for the Samsung after doing my home work, was going for the BenQ but i think the Samsung is of better quality not read to much on the Iiyama.

I must admit I'm now leaning towards the Samsung instead of the BenQ! Not sure about the Iiyama.

Let us know what you think of it.

I've read that the Samsung has a "simple" stand and sets the monitor tilting back at about 75degrees... Can anyone confirm this? Looking at this for a possible christmas present and NEED one that is able to be tilted.
Edit: the user manual says that it's tiltable from -2degree to 21degrees........

All monitors mentioned offer the same 'tilt' functionality. It is usual for the tilt to be limited to about 30 degrees or less.

Sorry should have mentioned that some people have said that their's does not tilt at all where some people have said that their's does tilt but is very hard to do so...
Any owners about to confirm?

It does tillt. Like all Samsung monitors it is quite stiff. You just need one hand on the base, one on the top and tilt from there. People are scared that they will break something is all.

This ilyama screen: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-051-IY&groupid=17&catid=510&subcat=
Is far better than the 'b' series as its got a higher contrast ratio which gives a sharper image.

I have the 2407 and its a gorgeous screen, very crisp and sharp picture and a nice lookin screen. Definitely a recommendation from me as ilyama are a top quality screen manufacturer so you can't go wrong!! It's got a decent tilt angle too, though the degrees i don't know.

I see - Samsung is a contender then.
Cheers Tomcat! I didn't know that the letter in B2409 and E2407 indicates the "series" of screen.
So is there any reason that the E2407HDS is cheaper than the B2409HDS? Seeing as the E you say, is a better screen.

"E" denotes entertainment, "B" denotes business. The real differences between these two screens, aside from price, is that the B2409 is a monitor with a matte bezel, height adjustable stand and lower rated dynamic contrast - it is designed for business so the latter feature isn't important. Static contrast is likely very similar on both panels, probably rated at 800-1000:1 but perhaps closer to 600:1 in practice. The image quality is probably very similar and I would be very surprised if they used massively different panels.

Whilst initially I was going to go for the Samsung P2450H, after doing a bit more reading and research (thanks PCM2), I've decided to go for either the Samsung XL2370 or the Samsung BX2450.

I know the XL2370 is 23 inch but it is supposed to be the best TN panel on the market according to PCM2 in another thread, so it should be a no brainer I guess and I can get it for under £200 (it's less than £2.00 more than the BX2450 from the same vendor).
