Is either console still within it's warranty to fix them for free? (360 3yrs, PS3 ~18mths).

I think the 360 is still under warranty but the ps3 isnt, I got the "renew ps3 cover" letter through the post the other day so I'm going to renew the cover and wait a couple weeks then phone them up and send it back.

Now to find the receipt for the 360

The 360 can be repaired under warranty without a receipt, as long as your manufactured date on the console is < 3 yrs. If it is longer than 3 years, but you bought it within 3 yrs (i.e. the unit was sitting in shop/warehouse for ages) then you will be asked for a receipt.

If your PS3 is just over 1 yr old, then Sony will repair it free, I think the cutoff is 18 mths (even though officially the warranty is 12 mths).

Just submitted my 360 for repair on their website and now i'm trying to find my ps3 reciept. I just bought uncharted 2 and wanted to get forza 3, guess ill save some time and money ha ha
