I feel like I need a backup flash for some events I am working on.
Main requirement is TTL while on the D800's hotshoe, but remote would be nice (or at least with the ability to be used remotely with an additional trigger).

All the models are very confusing, to the point where I might just by a Nikon SB-700.

Contenders are:
Yongnuo YN-568EX
Yongnuo YN565EXN

What is the difference between :

And

The YN568ex has high speed sync. It's also slightly nicer, but does lose the battery port. If high speed sync isn't something you need, just get the YN565ex (the yn565ex II is for canon) To trigger it off camera you want a set of YN622n transceivers.

Thanks for clarifying, I ended up just buying the 568 because it was only $15 more. I don't imagine I need HSS but you never know and i thought there might be other small improvements.

S the 568 turned up a couple of days ago and I just switched it on.
Seems to work but the zoom is incredibly noisy, is this normal or not?
When my SB-600 zooms here is a whisker quiet murmur form the motor, but Yongnuo reaches annoying levels of sound.

TBH, even if it is normal I might just return it and buy a Nikon SB-700.
