Yongnuo Flashguns.

Use two at the moment with RF-603 triggers and love them. For random shooting you might want one of the E-TTL models (YN-468, YN-565) but I shoot two YN-560's fully manual and love them. Haven't used the first-party Canon flashes but I have no qualms with the YN-560s at the moment and don't intend to spend twice the price for weaker flashes or approaching 4 times the price (iirc) to get the same power in a 580EX to find out if I'm missing anything.

I have the YN-565 and love it !, doesn't do HSS and doesn't allow it to be used as a master , but hey its 1/3 of the price, pays your money and takes your choice

If you plan on using these flashes in TTL then get own-brand as you don't have to worry about compatibility with other products like Pocket Wizard TTL triggers etc. or missing features. If you plan to use them with manual power settings then Yongnuo are a great budget option.

I think they are pocketwizard compatible.....I certainly know I can trigger them with my onboard 7D wireless controller

I have the 565 with my 7d. It's both ettl and manual and works wirelessly with the 7d's in built wireless flash.

Post on here how you get on with it when you get it :). I am looking to pick one up at some point.

Yes i will. My stepdaughter does a lot of fashion photography so using her as a model will help me get the best out of it plus my nephew is getting married in August so i will need to get some practice in.
