I'm going to York for a little holiday from 9th to the 13th. Was a bit of a last minute decision to go, so not had a lot of time to organise where I'll be eating. So far I have a booking for the festive Afternoon Tea in the Belmont Room at Betty's Tea Room and a dinner reservation for the tasting menu at The Park Restaurant. I wanted to go Le Cochon Aveugle and Skosh, but there were no good reservations available for the times I'll be there.

Anyone got any good suggestions for places to eat? I've not been to York since Feb 2018, so any new additions to the eating scene would be good to know about :)

Was in York for a night a few weeks back and went to Sotano for tapas and it was amazing.

Missus had a minor meltdown when satnav on both of our phones was struggling and we circled round a couple of times before finding it, but it was well worth it

Not really. I'll eat most types if I like the look of the menu. Doesn't have to be ultra fancy or anything either. As long as its good quality I don't mind eating at little cafes or even chain places.

Good areas to check out with plenty of options would be Fossgate, Spark (on Piccadilly) and the Shambles market.

We're heading back for a weekend in York in a couple of weeks time, looks like some good suggestions.

We went to House of Trembling Madness for lunch and the platters were great. If you're a craft beer lover they have a decent selection, but the can and bottleshop downstairs is extraordinary.
