Can anyone recommend a good hotel in York for 3 nights (Tue - Fri)? It's for our anniversary so don't mind splashing out, plus my wife's middle name is 5* :) No parking as we'll be getting the train.

This one looks nice so far:

Cheers.

Went to uni in York and stayed in a few different hotels there since

Middlethorpe Hall is nice - but a little out of town https://maps.app.goo.gl/9romQqPxCcLbZRAh8

If you want to be in the centre, you can't go wrong with the grand https://maps.app.goo.gl/rKxCrEX72MrFXNdh9

Grays court is also lovely https://maps.app.goo.gl/UR2c9x81ZUBgqqzFA

Hope that helps!
Thanks for this although since posting I've been told that the favourite is Middletons Hotel. Maybe these will change her mind....

Not sure if this will top your choice or any of the ones @SoundEng listed but I stayed at Malmaison a couple of years ago https://www.malmaison.com/. Decent enough place, get a room on a higher floor to get a view of the Minster. It's also got a roof top bar which serves decent cocktails if you like that sort of thing. The meal we had at the hotel was good but not sure if it's as good as the food looked at the hotel you listed @zom247

If you are getting the train then Middlethorpe Hall is too far outside of the city, it is a decent taxi journey away. The Grand is dubbed the best hotel in York and probably is, it is well looked after very central and one of the only few that has a spa/pool.

Grays Court is nice and again centrally located but it is small so books up quickly, if you want to spend a bit less but still have a spa the Novotel York Centre is central and has a spa/pool.

The rest of the hotels in York are general chain ones.
