Well, I was at an auction the other day, and amongst other things I ended up with an old Pashley Picador. (£80)

Now, I did have a specific reason in mind. I am happy off roading but I have never really been happy on the road. (I never learned to ride as a child, starting as an adult is somewhat different) On a trike I will have a lot more confidence with doing full shoulder checks and forceful hand signals.

I also have a very specific use in mind. My fav supermarket (Waitrose, of course! :D ) is around 2.5 miles away, mostly on the level. Using this instead of the Landcruiser for my regular shop would, quite literally, save me a couple of hundred quid/year.

First attempts at riding it however is interesting. First impressions is that it doesn't steer right.

I realise what the problem is, on a bike you lean over when you turn. On a trike you do not. It actually feels really weird.

I think I will want to practice a bit before actually going onto the road....

But in the long term, as I head into retirement, I think this could actually be a very useful vehicle for me.

Does anybody else here have an Adult Trike. What do you use them for and how do you find them in practice?

Please do not laugh at me too hard :D.

I bought my missus one of them , awesome bikes and we can stuff the dog in the rear basket (always felt bad going for a ride me and the missus in the park and leaving mutley behind)
I know what your on about with the steering , feels very weird and pretty hairy when you get it on two wheels around corners.

Before buying her the trike she had a mountain bike but had to drag her out to ride it , cant keep her off this and she frequently uses her middle finger to anyone that sniggers at her.
