You are the driver - Roundabout edition

Are they just giving driving licences away these days?

Is this for real?

Come on then driving gods / geniuses. Read the OP again and explain your answer.

I should have clarified in the OP this is not a large roundabout, there is not a large distance between the junctions, the roundabout is single lane. There are also buildings either side of junction 5 so you cannot see very well what is coming from that way if you are at 1. Similarly, you have to stop at 5 to see what’s coming from 4.

All of which is irrelevant, treat a roundabout the same if it has 3 exits or 30.

Unless the roundabout has special controls on it in the form of for example traffic signals or signage then you give way to traffic already on the island and approach at a reasonable speed so as to have safe visibility before entering the island. Just because some exits are for 'main roads' and some are for smaller exits such as car parks does not make a blind bit of difference under normal circumstances assuming it's just regularly controlled with give way markings and nothing more - follow the highway code.

But I’m asking who has priority if no car is already on the roundabout and cars arrive at each junction at the same time.

Nobody will have 'priority', you all are to enter the roundabout when it is safe to do so and continue on your way. As soon as a car is approaching from your right you are to give way to them and wait for a safe time to enter the island. Can you give us a Google maps link to the island in question?

in practice they never arrive at the same time, they all have different velocities and visibility and the more experienced drivers (without the L plates)
will appraise the drivers and cars to their right , and if they can't proceed will have left a gap for the guy on their left to take the initiative

Exactly like I said, who dares, wins ;)

Arrive at the roundabout and make the call. Go or wait. End
