Get a DS lite and a couple of games (mario and castlevania) and save the other £200 (ish) for the Wii which is going to be awesome.

At this point in time, and Xbox 360, as that's currently the only luxury item I require at the moment, got enough clothes / dvds / etc etc. I'm pretty much getting that sum of money back off the taxman very soon, so will be doing that

Don't just spend it for the sake of it. You may need it at some point in the future, so I would save it for when you actually need it.
