You say your COVID status is fine but don't ship my order.

My Intel Xeon W-3175X has died, Intel offered a refund and I ordered a replacement AMD Ryzen 9 5950X + motherboard two days ago, it hasn't shipped yet but the COVID status is green.

I'm sorry, what? I paid £10.50 in shipping for a 3 day delivery time, you used to charge £8.70 for next day delivery, what is this?

Why do you state COVID status is green?

I'll just stare at the blank space my computer was, oh and yes, I bought the Xeon for £2700 from OCUK, too, glad it turned out to be a useless product.

Not useless. You feel you had bad service, don't shop there again.

If it hasn't been dispatched you can cancel your order for a refund.

There is literally nothing else that will achieve anything.
Trouble is I'm stuck with OCUK as there isn't a 5950X anywhere else, so yes, still an unhelpful response and OCUK should really be clear about their COVID status instead of keeping it in the green, when it isn't.

I just need to rebuild the computer quickly after this absolutely horrible experience with C621 which I spent over £6,000 on.

Ok won't change ****, moaning on a forum won't change ****, the only way they will learn is of people stop spending money there.

So either put up with it, or wait for someone else to get stock, and shop there.
I don't appreciate your foul mood.

What we have here is what I refer to as DREF (Difference in Reality/Expectation Frustration).

The cure in this circumstance is 'expectation realignment'.

You ordered on the Tue 29th December, for all deliveries it clearly states 1 - 5 days, (those are working days) therefore you really should not be complaining/moaning/expressing exasperation before Wed 7th Jan.

Even then, not only is this a normally busy time of the year but:
  • Covid-19 rates are rising dramatically, therefore more people will be off work either sick or isolating.
  • Many areas of the country either have some ice or snow further hampering deliveries
  • Brexit has just happened which maybe putting extra pressure on companies resources.
I purchased a RTX 3090 last week. Normally it would have been dispatched the same day but it took 4 working days (6 in total as over a weekend) for it to be dispatched. It then arrived next day by DPD.

I strongly suggest you do whatever you have to do to wait patiently, until there is a 'real' delay. Maybe reflect that many who expected to be here this week no longer are, just a thought.
It actually says 1-3 working days on checkout.

Perhaps you should buy a £2700 processor, £1200 in ram, £1500 motherboard just to have the processor die, having a replacement, die again, request a refund, have a motherboard that's unsellable then not be able to do anything on a system until a replacement, less powerful processor is shipped?

Oh wait, none of you are in that same position, so lay off with the annoying pram jokes, much appreciated.

Zen 3 Threadripper should be interesting though.

Unless of course anyone wants a free motherboard? d4T9GmB.jpg

This is where you should just step back, take a deep breath and take an objective appraisal of the situation.

You've had some bad luck with a dead CPU, I'll grant you that but to come and start lashing out at people who don't deserve it, namely OcUK, is unwarranted and a poor reaction.

We choose our reactions to situations and right now, you are choosing poorly. You will get short shrift and no sympathy from anybody on this forum as you are clearly in the wrong for whinging before the delivery due date has past.

I can empathise you with having a dead CPU and the consequences of that but people are dealing with the consequences of having dead loved ones. Get some perspective.
I haven't 'lashed out' at anyone.

Anyway, have a good new year bud.

Just a word of advice, dont assume the value of your product gives you more of a right then anyone else , as the post read as a really **** poor flex moment. we've all been in the same boat regardless of value. a lot of us have been waiting months for cpus and gpus to turn up with some of us relying on it for our main or sub income. We vent in threads just as you can do but the way this thread reads is just bitchy /pathetic.

Oh lay off sunshine.

Regardless of the silly little comments by some users here, rather childish infact and uncalled for, hopefully it ships next week.

I didn't make a thread to be called a child, toy in pram throwing and pathetic.

But I guess these comments go hand in hand with the behaviour of users within the discord channels, I didn't expect much more, however when you ask why your order hasn't shipped for whatever reason, I hope you're not met with the same behaviour as it's quite boring.

Wouldn't want to find myself stooping that low, yes, I do understand it's a busy time period however when a checkout states 1-3 working days delivery period, you tend to assume that the company in question is operating well enough to do so, if they're actually not, I'd expect a change in status on the website and delivery times adjusted to fit within their new expected time scales.

Are you the guy who sold his 3970X for this Xeon 3175X, which then died. Ouch. OK i'd be cheesed off too.

Hopefully you get the 5950X soon. You're obviously into your high core counts, out of interest what workloads do you on your gear?
I don't mean to make an argument or anything but comments from other users are just genuinely annoying.

Anyway, I do photography and video, and abit of 3D, and yeah, I got both the 3970X and W-3175X from OCUK.

However, a few months after getting the W-3175X, intel changed the specifications on their website of it, my CPU had an IMC problem, dropped channels and continuously BSOD'd, Intel gave me a replacement however what they didn't tell me is that they had significantly altered the clock speeds of the CPU with the replacement, resulting in much lower single and multi core speeds.

It used to run 4.3GHz/3.8GHz, the replacement only ran at 3.8GHz/3.2GHz, they said this was due to preserving the life span which obviously I wasn't happy about, ontop of that within a month the processor had degraded, was running 10-12c hotter under the same coolant temperature and hitting initialise errors when trying to run certain programs and even getting into windows.

So now it's back to the drawing board with hopefully something that works and the specs won't be significantly altered.

We're still within 1-3 working days then aren't we if you ordered 2 days ago?

I'm not sure why you keep mentioning the value of your order either, it's irrelevant.

If you actually want help rather than to rant and get wound up post in here https://www.overclockers.co.uk/forums/community/ocuk-customer-service.116/

I never once mentioned the value of the recent order, it is irrelevant and it's neither expensive, it's about having a working system.

I think I can honestly say I have only ever seen 1 cpu die and that was due to a thunderstorm, many, many moons ago. So to have 2 die in the same system, I would wonder if something is not right somewhere? or is there a history of these cpu's dying?

I get the frustration with the shipping, but they are only human, during a pandemic, during a very very busy holiday season with all manner of new releases of shiny/glowy stuff.

Might I suggest if a computer is so important to you, that you build yourself a backup system. You could have the backup system do photoshop automation allowing you concentrate on the particulars, since I am guessing that is your line of work. Nice lenses btw.

And yes they have a history of doing so, probably due to the low volumes created and requiring a highly binned 8180 which appears to end in the silicon for the W-3175X being extremely temperamental.

It does mean that I won't trust another Intel product though.

I apologise about my earlier comments.

This thread is indeed very valuable and will get you the result you want, infact I've just been informed the CEO of OCUK himself has now read this thread, and will hand deliver your processor within the hour.

Glad to hear it.
