You wouldn't steal a font - except when you did by accident!

I've heard of IP being used without license accidentally before, or companies contracting someone and not realising they were given stolen materials, but this is great:

I think I read somewhere the the music in those ads was used without permission/licence too

There were some articles around this a long time ago, but sadly it turns out it wasn't, and the internet was just doing its thing. It was funny while it lasted though.

There's an article on Arstechnica if anyone wants something that's probably more informative and less clickbait. Though i've not read the Sky article.

Oh that takes me back to some good old days of the internet. I loved building my own websites very early on, finding generators and tutorials for all the cool font effects.

Now I'm (almost) 40 and it's my career. I think the airport parking reservation world needs to bring this back. 100% conversion rate overnight.

"Stolen" a few fonts in my time too. Not commercially mind
:D

I worked with a guy whose font ended up on the album cover of a well known dance/pop artist. Not much he could do.

The corporations than own fonts such as Helvetica are very aggressive in terms of pursuing but small designers are a bit unfazed.
