YouFibre

I just wrote my comment to the CMA about the acquisition. My points were focused on Nexfibre making lots of noises about being a wholesale provider and delivering nothing so why believe they're going to do it this time, and the fact that the Netomnia network overlaps VMs by something like 80%, which is not what you do if your aim is to grow your network as opposed to buying it to stop CityFibre getting a chance.

I upgraded my you1000 to you200 mid contract and saved £3 a month so now only £30. No skin feeling which is great. Only issue is I have a 2.5 gb usb rj45 adapter but seen to only be getting 1gb downloads even though says connected at the correct speed. Just need youfibre to test my connection. But overall happy with the service and can recommend them

Have you reset the ONT since upgrading?

Yes it's flashing 2.5 on the ONT on the wall but I'm maybe thinking it's a router problem, I have the sagemcom router, as I have internet access but not full speed and the WAN 2.5 port lights are both off, they flash initially after a restart but then stay off and tested with multiple cables

I noticed this over on the YouFibre reddit and thought I'd repost it here. It looks like YouFibre are going to be rolling out new YouFibre WiFi 7 routers and YouMesh WiFi 7 Boosters to new customers going forward.

They're all rebadged Sagemcom units.
Does anyone know where I can find a technical spec of their new routers, they dont seem to be able to supply one (have tried multiple request to them!)

I'll have another think about it then. Aquiss have been solid for me the last 2 years or so - had one outage (totally not their fault - due to someone digging up a cable...), and it was nice to speak to someone who actually knew what they were talking about rather than having to jump through hoops following a script with generic call taker #6739836 multiple times before getting any progress

Decided to go ahead with this in the end, went with the gigabit at £33/mo (with static IP) vs the £55/mo I'm currently paying (plus it's symmetrical rather than the 900/110 I have currently). Install booked for Monday, hopefully no issues!

The ONT will be stuck on the 1Gbps profile, you’ll need to contact Youfibre to reset it. It’s a common issue.
This is good to know, ive had mine for 3 days and i cant get over 1gb.

seems to be topping out at around 900. Wired and wireless.

Well wired was actually around 700 :|

I chatted with their support when I couldn't get it to work and was told it is at 2.5 and no issues in the line, and that is probably just unable to send the full speed to one device. I think maybe a week later it just started working at full speed, I never changed anything except maybe reboot the router.

I have an engineer coming out to me Tuesday. Apparently they couldn't get a speed reading from their end.

The Internet seems stable enough, no outages or anything, I just can't get the speed.
