younger brother has deleted something now having loads of dll issues. please help

ok so I have got my brother a little toshiba laptop, he is a bit of a muppet and like most 15 year olds feels he knows everything about everything. He has downloaded a game recently (wont tell me what it was) he didnt like it and deleted it, now the lappy is crippled with mising DLL's. one is called iertutil.dll and the other main one is urlmon.dll causing a problem with the dynamic link library. Im really stuffed with this kind problem so have come to you.

have downloaded 3 reg cleaners but due to the missing dll;s they wont run and have system restored but that hasnt worked.

Either download them and stick them in the system32 folder or just reinstall the laptop (my pref)

have you got a restore point miles before he could've done any of this retardation? you say you've tried a restore but i'm wondering if he'd already started fiddling from an earlier point...

you could also try doing a system repair; generally that'll fix a lot of issues with borked dll's

I'd try system repair using Windows Disc, Generally Windows Restore is a bit ****.

As its the brothers laptop id be tempted to teach him a valuable life's lesson that he doesn't know everything and leave him to it. If he knows that well, he should be able to fix it.

Or, teach him another valuable lesson about the importance of backing up critical personal data and restore to factory defaults.

"sfc /scannow" with the Windows CD may do the trick.

As above try running the system file checker from an Admin command prompt.
