Your bad driving encounters/irritations

had one this morning as I was overtaking on a dual carriageway, I was doing 70 and the car I was overtaking about 64, spied a range rover at least half a mile away in the rear view mirror just as I started to overtake, must have been doing 125 as by the time I could safely move back inside it was an inch behind me and it had to slam on so hard it ended up with both offside wheels on a grass area next to the central barrier and actually went past me like that with clouds of dust and **** flying everywhere. I flashed him when they moved back in front of me in the inside lane and they slammed on to a complete standstill about 400m in front of me, which was a concern as I thought as I went past they were just going to pull into my path as I overtook, seeing how erratic they'd been up to that point.

As long as they only kill themselves I'm alright with it.

The lockdowns were absolute bliss (being a key worker), just cruising down the dual-carriageways around here, rolling countryside, tunes on, sun out and almost no cars around.

chinese/wuhan could have done better ?

maybe if google maps had the power of speech I wouldn't have been stuck 30mins A14E near huntingdon roadworks delay - usually find it it just hallucinating with it's diversions,
but if it could have explained it's proposal I might have trusted its advice...
how many 100K£/day ? such roadworks cost the lorry transport economy.

Google maps does have voice navigation....

I think I need road rage classes, normally I've learned to keep myself under control but today I proper lost it and had a tantrum.

I'm really quite courteous, I always let people in to filter, or flash to let people in or whatever - I always queue properly... Today on the M1, in a jam - this absolute heinous ghastly, chintzy, hag in a Range Rover Velar, came tanking up - skipped the entire queue and literally wedged herself into the side of me right at the head of the queue, forcing me to go onto the white cross-hatch, we were only going slow (like 20mph as it was a jam) but I honestly ****** lost my calm totally, think I had my hand on the horn for about 10 seconds yelling and screaming.

I think the thing that gets me, is I always deliberately drive like a good guy, I never ever tailgate people, never go hurtling up behind people - I make a lot of effort to be honest, (which might be rare for someone in an 6 month old M4 comp), and just the way this whoreish **** behaved, just got my back up.

Think I might investigate anger management classes for road rage, as there's nothing I can do about it getting so wound up by other people isn't healthy..

I find that if I assume every other driver is a complete **** I generally won't be very disappointed. There's just so much bad driving (and parking) everywhere I look these days I keep wondering how people actually passed their driving tests.

I had something not dissimilar on the way to work, woman in a brand new BMW tailgating me on the dual-carriageway for no good reason - couple of times started to move over as if to pass but didn't eventually got to about a car length from me so I slowed right down and she still just sat there opening and closing her mouth with a puzzled scowl on her face. Fortunately my turning came up not long after that. Just one look you could tell the type - clueless, attitude/stuck up her own behind and no consideration for others.

Aside from easing off a bit to grow the gap when someone passed me and moved over quite early I was dead on the speed limit the rest of the time.

For me it's the brazen disregard for other drivers, that really really ***** my goat, as in - the cretinous whore literally forces her way in, until I'm forced off of the road onto the crosshatch - she won't even look or acknowledge what she's done, she had no right-of-way, no patience to queue like everybody else, no regard for anyone else or any thing.

I wish I was in my old Ford Ranger, then I could have just held my line, and if she went into me I could have just shrugged and laughed and not cared, but I can't do that in an £80k sports car.

When in my Navara I get a lot less people doing stuff like that, not a magic bullet but I guess they get the perception they'll come off worse and it alters their behaviour a bit and/or as it is semi "murdered out" they might be a little more cautious that they might be messing with the wrong person.

Just assume they are zombies and have lost all conscience about their surroundings. I had one few days ago in an electric Qashqai, just accelerating and slowing down ever so fast in a 30 zone and less than a cars length from the vehicle ahead. You should see how the car suspension was being tossed with all the braking and acceleration. I stayed back further than I would normally to avoid being part of any nonsense.

I know you have ignored most situations based on what you wrote. I am the same but there are moments which can set anyone off. Live and learn and "inner peace". :)

One of the ones which gets to me is the people who kind of wake up and speed up when someone has committed to overtaking them - a few times I'd have had words with them if the chance came up (and not necessarily me who was trying to pass them).

We all get angry at times and sometimes need to let it out in the moment, I know I do. I try to stay short of using the horn and keep it to choice language and some shouting or scowling...

But TBH the only similarity I see between @Felon and @Rroff is that it was a woman. Words like whore shows a bit of an issue and I think you need to knock that on the head :(

We deal with plenty of **** drivers and should know it's not the gender that makes them ****. In fact I have realised I assume all drivers are male when I'm swearing at them until I see otherwise, which probably says something about my assumptions too :o
