I find good black and white conversion very difficult to get right. It can be hard to get a really good range of tones from your colour original without losing detail somewhere in the image.

So inspired by Shimmyhill's B&W conversion, and with the above in mind, I suggest a thread to showcase your best B&W conversion, or even your best B&W shot! Please feel free to share how you achieved your result (unless it's trade secrets!). Sepia and tints also allowed I think.

I'll kick it off with what I consider to be my best B&W conversion to date. Taken this weekend of the canal in Berkhamsted. I used a downloaded action set to make the conversion. I'll post a link if anyone's interested?

Wow  Good shots so far chaps.

Matt Harper, looks like there is a hint of tint in your shot, care to share the technique?

Cykey, as usual brilliant stuff. I bet that looks a treat at A2. Where was it taken?
