Was having this chat with a friend and thought some on here might enjoy it.

You have to make the best starting 11 for your club ever with players who are either a) born locally b) not local, but spent at least three quarters of their career with your club.

Give some reasons and why they are there too.

Newcastle;

GK - Jimmy Lawrence - Scot but spent almost his whole career at Newcastle with appearance record. 3 league titles and a FA Cup.
RB - Bobby Cowell - almost 300 games for the club, 3 FA cup wins.
LB - Frank Clark - great LB, over 400 game for the club before winning Euro medal with Forest.
CB - Bobby Moncur - top CB over 300 performances and won the Fairs cup.
CB - Colin Vetich - waaaay back in the day but won it all captaining the club.
RW - Tommy Walker - quality winger who played with Jackie winning 3 cups.
LW - Chris Waddle - nuff said :p
CM - David McCreery - top notch CM played most his career with Toon and starred in two world cups.
CM - Gazza - legend :D
CF - Alan Shearer - top scorer in PL and Toon history. Great for England. Hero.
CF - Jackie Milburn - Wor Jackie, second top scorer for Newcastle. 300 in 350 games, 3 FA Cups, 10 in 13 England appearances blinking amazing!!!!

Have fun folks! :)

I'll put a list together.

How do you define 'local'?

I forget it easy in a one team city with Newcastle.

I would say local is the town/city itself or its suburbs. That and any smaller villages/towns which don't really have any decent teams of their own.

As an example one Newcastle player I picked is from Shields, it doesn't really have a decent team and is within a short commute (15-20mins) of Newcastle.

Just use best judgement really.

I'm glad to see everyone getting in the spirit :)

Cone on we need fans of other teams to contribute too, can't believe we still haven't got a ManU team yet.
