I have tried many tech demos, experiences, simluators and games mainly with the Oculus Rift DK2 and CV1 and also have a go with the Vive for about 20 minutes.

Without a doubt Dirt Rally is the best thing I have tried. I was on Pant mawr track, midday cloudy with the Impreza 2001 tonight and it is an almost perfect experience - a great blend of arcade and sim.

This is what should be in arcades with a racing chair on hydrolics with a wheel and pedals. Even me playing on a 360 pad gave me the same feeling as when I was about 10 playing Ridge Racer in Meadowhall Arcade in the full size car :D

Driving at night with the headlights on going around mountain side corners in Greece is also rather scary but enjoyable

I had a go with Project Cars and Assetto Corsa again but neither compare now. I used to think both were great but Dirt Rally is just so much better

It feels and plays smooth (almost all tracks, there seems to be a glitch with the circuit one) It is challenging but in VR is makes it a lot easier to judge corners and so much more enjoyable to play. Basically, if you havent played it, go buy it

but only if you are into racing games. If you don't like racing car games, VR won't change that unfortunately :(

MY best VR experience has been the dinosaur island demos and the Last 30 seconds of Sightline's the chair :)

I think the easiest answer to give to this, is the one you've yet to play:)

Serious or not, the thing with vr games is that nearly every game you read up on, there's a review or comment stating that "this is the best vr game for me"

Personally I've settled down with elite. I just find the in the spaceship experience incredible, you jump in a conflict area, it's like being in the middle of starwars/battlestar fighter battle. Everything flying around you like every scfi show I grew up loving in the 70's and 80's.

Of course vr games are so much more than that though, last night I had 10 minutes, and droped on the HRV 01 demo. So much fun, the thrust/movement is totally intuitive, equally how brilliant vr games can be.

Be interesting to hear what that one game is for everybody.

Not played Dirt but I play Assetto on a regular basis with the DK2 and a G290 wheel. Its epic fun!

Having a wheel makes all the difference.

How is Discovering Space 2? I paid for version 1 when I had a DK2 but looking it appears I need to buy it (version 2) again for CV1. It was one of my favourite sims on my DK2

I really love it!

Once the planet textures have improved it'll be even better, but the scale of things feels about right. A relaxing experience. It's fun to approach earth above the sea and enter the atmosphere.

I like the little easter eggs too. Like the Discovery ship from 2001 A Space Odyssey which is orbiting Jupiter. Or the Event Horizon orbiting Neptune.

Just got this for my Vive its pretty good but i find the scale off on planets when your close they feel like big balls rather than massive planets.
