Everyone has different opinions regarding games. What are your controversial gaming opinions and why?

- The Syndicate remake by Starbreeze was a good game. From a FPS perspective, it was a decent shooter.

- Every Sonic game ever produced was ****. Platforming was average and it contained some of the most annoying characters in gaming.

- Crysis: A mediocre game that was more of a **** measuring benchmark for PC enthusiasts. Hence the can it run Crysis nonsense.

- The Monkey Island games were terrible. I wanted the pirates to chop the head off Guybrush Threepwood.

- The Steam Controller is the best controller ever made. Period. Totally misunderstood and hated because ****witted Youtubers/Console driven websites clearly didn't get it (or know how to use it) and because it wasn't like a PS4/Xbox controller. It's customisation for a controller is unparalleled.

Don't hate me. :)

Controversial gaming opinion - The vast majority of Japanese story driven games are convoluted, contrived, self-indulgent garbage.

This i agree with 100%.

I think developers have forgotten how to make games fun.
99.99% of games are not fun in any way.

Sturgeon's_law. :-)

A lot of games can feel more like a job now, rather than something that's mean't to be fun.

For example: It's one of the reasons i prefer arcade racers as opposed to racing sims. I can have great fun playing Outrun 2: Coast 2 Coast on PC, meanwhile i'm snoring playing games like Forza, GT, etc.

I avoid games that have Anime. Can't stand the cancerous style. It instantly rules out over 80% of Jap developed games for me.

Above: An example of Jap crap.

How anyone outside their teenage years can like this is beyond me?

Consoles , one day, will become obsolete, thus transforming into streaming/subscription based models where one doesn't need the box anymore. Console peasants that bought into the console ecosystem will lose their **** when it happens.

Meanwhile on PC, you'll have the best of both worlds, you can download your games or stream them. Just as you can now.

PC gaming/systems will become more portable and powerful as chips get more integrated. ATX systems will become niche at one point.

PC gaming > console gaming. Always has been, always will be...

Some companies tried game streaming services already, it didn't work very well even with a good connection. You can't get around the input delay etc. Unfortunately physics gets in the way :p

There will be a need for a box regardless of the delivery/payment model. Be it a PS, xBox or whatever. I don't see mainstream gaming being integrated into smart TVs for a long time and streaming games isn't the answer until most people in developed countries get really good broadband

I disagree. It's already going down this path.

Spencer told Bloomberg: "Microsoft will probably debut a streaming service that doesn't require a console for some types of content in the next three years".

It won't be forced on consumers instantly, like MS tried to do with their original plan for the X1. They'll be subtle about it, implementing it piece by piece.

Also, technology will progress, so you won't have the bottlenecks you've got just now.

Consoles are on borrowed time and MS/Sony know it. Console peasants just don't want to accept the inevitability.

Enthusiast console owners are extremely cheap for what they want from such systems. They cry about how ***** their games run, wish all their games ran at 60fps at full native resolution, but they don't want to pay it.

The Japanese are that bad at storytelling, they may as well not even include one in most of their games.

Nintendo fans are so bloody annoying they'd put you off buying Nintendo hardware.

The Linux community don't deserve any games...ever.

Wrong. They're not as good anymore, but back in the late 90s/early 00s the Japs had it down to a tee. Final Fantasy 7 is an absolute case in point.

Wrong - if anything the Microsoft community deserve to have EA and Activision rim them for every single penny given that they not only use an operating system that is borderline malware but they also defend the company responsible and think it's a good idea!

Nah, narrative in Japanese games have always been ***** and continue to be *****. You think FF7 is good from a narrative perspective..haha..keep the comedy coming today. :D

The Linux community is nothing but toxic, even enthusiast Linux YouTubers have abandoned the platform in favour of Windows due it's toxicity.

Also, this #NoTuxNoBucks nonsense you see from them regarding ports of Linux games to their platform is pathetic. The marketshare for Linux is microscopic (and that's being kind), they should be grateful they're getting any of the games in the first place.

Lastly, Windows is the dominant desktop OS, instead of belittling it and coming off as some hipster ******, they should start using it. Maybe then they'll come to the realisation of what they've been missing out on all this time.
