ooooh a CPU history list...here's mine:

Intel Pentium 1 (166MHz speed) 1997 (first ever Family PC)
Intel Pentium II (couldnt remember the speed but this was used for the first ever machine I built back in 1999. Remember the Slot format? yes that rather elongated one lol)
AMD K5 400MHz (this was going to be used in the family PC til I realised it wouldnt work lol so I used it on another machine I built which unfortunately was stolen and that was a shame cos that was when I started to do overclocking back in 2000. If I remember right, the highest I had it OC'd to was 920MHz lol)
AMD Duron (got this one in 2001 with a system I put together. After 18mths it also got stolen, probably a good thing cos I was running Windows ME on it lol)
AMD Athlon XP 2500+ (2004 this was purchased and it was at the time the best AMD CPU to posses. It was using the Barton core and it allowed me to overclock it to 2.2GHz from 1.8GHz with ease. 5yrs later, its now being used as my FTP server)
AMD Athlon X2 4400 2.2GHz (2006 I got this when I moved to dual core. Still being used today in a test machine which has Windows 7 Ultimate running. Till the HDD died on me so I am waiting to get new one lol)
AMD Athlon X2 6000+ 3.0GHz (purchased 2007 for my first ever gaming machine, then moved to main machine status but I might use it as either another testing machine or just build it and sell it to someone)
Intel Q6600 2.40GHz OC'd to 3.6GHz (2008. Without a doubt definitely the best ever CPU I have purchased. Used for the new gaming machine. Parts will now be used as the new main machine)

Intel Core i7 920 Now in use for gaming and benchmarking :D

So there you have it :)

Behind you... Naked!
Do we count EVERY CPU?

I wont bother witjh the 8 Bits... Dozens based on the 750x / 6x0y / Z8x Processors

I think that pretty much covers those.

On the 16Bit stuff

68000 = Atari ST & Amiga
68030 = Atari Falcon & Atari TT & Amiga
68040 = Amiga
68060 = Atari Falcon ( Currently still use this beast more than my PCs )

PC-Wise

Amstrad PC1512 then 1640, also a PCW256
Victor 286
IBM 286
Apricot 286 @ 10Mhz ( Wohoo!!! total overkill )
( Id like to poijnt out at this point that I have a 10Mhz Apricot and InSanCen had an 8Mhz one and you can see the difference!!! - Wahey! )

Then the big boys start

Olivetti 486/25 ( last ever computer I bought... After that have been home grown. )

486/66
586/100
Cyrix 333
K6/2 - 400
K6/2 - 550
Athlon 700 ( Slot A )
Celeron 900 ( for under an hour )
Athlon 600 ( Much faster than the Celeron 900 )
Duron 1100
And these I still have... And still use weirdly enough? )
ThunderBird 1400
XP2200
Barton 3200
A64-Winchester 3200
Newcastle 3000 ( Currently a Mobile 3700 ClawHammer )
Venice 3500
ClawHammer 3700
Manchester 3800
Opteron 144
Opteron 175
E6300 ( The moment I moved back to Intel )
E2180
E6600
Q6600
Q9550
PhenomII 920

Pc Im mostly using is the Q6600 @ stock surprisingly enough, but thats purely because Its in my TT Armor case downstairs and I cannot be bothered swapping all tyhe bits around with the AMD yet and my second most used PC is the Opteron 175 and thats purely because... well, I just love it... I really cannot think why?

P3 800mhz
P3 1.2GHz (maybe a P4)
P4 2.4GHz
AMD 3700+ 2.2GHz
Q6600 2.4GHz

Why are so many people ditching their quad cores and going dual core instead?
