Does this count? MiSTer FPGA - it can be a BBC, Amiga, up to a PS1, nearly any 8bit/16bit CPU and play games that are exactly like the original experience.

- Low power variant of AMD Turion or Athlon in 2006, I don't remember, I grabbed some cheap prebuilt PC at the time.
- AMD Phenom 955 II X4

- and like 4 different Intel CPUs, I don't remember what I had, then sold my last PC around 2014 and didn't have a PC again until AMD first launched their Ryzen series, I just got by with my laptops.

- AMD Ryzen 5 1600
- AMD Ryzen 7 5800X

And that's not including the CPUs I had in laptops/mini PCs.

Considering on getting 5900X or 5950X next when the prices drop some more (hopefully) when 7000 series launches since then upgrade again in about 2-3 years, since I'm on AM4, I don't have a lot of options for upgrades without moving on to a platform.

I can remember the days you would be jealous of people having a faster cpu than yourself, because in the 90s and early 2000's memory and cpu clockspeed made a huge difference for gaming. It was like being able to run a game or not.. I use to love those days where you were really excited about upgrading, but nowadays I dont know if its because Im older, but I dont really get excited about upgrading anymore?

I’d actually have no issues going AMD but every time I’ve upgraded, the Intel variant has been better suited to my requirements/preferences :)
