Your current Fish tank Setups!

New toadstool turned up this week.
Always worried about ordering livestock online, but it seems to be in very good health after it's travels.

Almost a year since i set up the African Cichlid tank, been suprised at how little agression theres been. even had some breeding happening. Initially thought the filter wouldnt be enough but all seems good so far doing a monthly water change and the filter gets a proper clean maybe once a quarter.

All new fish doing well, except the bicolour angel that we lost. Absolutely gutted, you get so attached to these fish :(. Absolutely no reason other than I think the community is so well established that new fish just struggle to integrate, especially since our damsels, tang and clowns are quite boisterous, new fish get intimidated.

So my fish tank guy advised going back to the store. I phoned them up and they said bring along a picture and water sample.

Managed to get a rather decayed picture of the fish and fresh water sample and trundled to the shop. They then didn’t even want to see the fish, confused themselves for a bit thinking it was fresh water, suggested my cleaning regime isn’t good enough and that I should be doing weekly 50% water changes which is ridiculous, then confused it with a fresh water angel and then eventually realised my salt water is bang on and processed the refund.

Will attempt another fish introduction again after the summer. I have no doubt it was nothing to do with my tank, but I still feel sad for the fish.

My cleaner shrimp and goby are all very happy. I did suggest to him that all the other new fish are fine, including a usually difficult to keep regal tang!

Terrible picture I know, but look at these guys. The goby is loving life

I don't have high hopes. When I opened the lid, the water smelled "funny".

Acclimitised, coral dipped and in the tank now. Keeping the lights off for the rest of the day.

I've had corals banged up in transport before, but never this bad.

I’d be surprised if they all survive. What’s the refund policy?

One of our blue star damsels isn’t going to make the weekend I don’t think and 2 have disappeared. They do say that they can get aggressive with each other as they get older, especially when there’s a smaller number of them.

I’ve also managed to block the filter of our turtle tank with the plants I’ve added, so another job to do next week!

Good to see them recovering, they’ve perked up a lot.

It’s been a tough fish week. Only one blue star damsel left. Not overly fussed about those, they are a nuisance and stop me getting a lot of other reef fish and corals.

Also lost the pleco (that had become pretty big in there) from the planted tank that already has an algae problem and I can’t get to the fish store until next week.

Managed to unclog the turtle tank filter at least. It was just the intake that had clogged. Lesson learnt, forget plants in the turtle tank.

My fish guy is away for a few weeks, so will see where we’re at when he returns.

My current tank was gonna be a Betta tank before I chose marine.
There are some lovely looking bettas out there. If I had the space, I'd still like to setup a small planted tank for one.

Picked up a emerald crab today. Hoping he takes a liking to bubble algae, but not counting on it.

Added this little guy to replace the one we lost:

Along with some more khuli loaches, cherry barbs, spotted danios.

My Pothos plant should hopefully arrive soon, going to grow that out of the top to hopefully suck up some nutrients.
