Well just wondering if people had a similiar idea to what i had this morning, My shelf consists of about 10 360 games and 17 PS3 mostly oldish titles but not too old and are all finished.

With PS+ ive just gotten FC3 and Remember me and Metal Gear (So plenty to keep me going till new gen), all the games on the shelf i dont play anymore and with plus its becoming pointless to keep them.

So here is my question if your getting the new consols have you considered trading them in ? I thought about getting rid of them all especially as GAME is doing trade 3 or more and get an extra 20% seems like a good idea with me wanting all shiny new games for PS4/XO

I had considered it, but then checked the value and saw they like £2, and thought **** that!

It's not worth it, I'll just move them out of my cupboard next to the consoles and put them in my wardrobe.

20% of £2 is still a joke.

10360 games. really?! i have to say you probably play loads.

Haha my game collection has got allot smaller at one point I had over 40 games for 360 and about 60 ps3 games but as I can't afford to just buy them all the time plus it was daft when I did I decided this gen I won't just stack games up ill only buy more when I have finished what I have

I have about 15 PS3 games, and a shedload on PS+. I'm going to wait and see if anywhere does any trade-in offers to upgrade to PS4, otherwise probably just hold onto them.

Edit: didn't properly read about the 20% extra - might see if I have anything worth trading in now :p

Double edit: Sod that - £12 trade in for 3 games?

About the only game in my collection I'll be selling is Last of Us, as not sure will have time to replay for a while, and it'll likely come on PS+ some time.

Nope, I don't sell or trade-in games I've enjoyed. I also tend not to buy pre-owned versions of games I know I'm going to enjoy, because the people who actually made the game aren't seeing any of my money.

I consider it at times but am always put off by the absolute rip-off of it all. I'd rather keep them even if I know I'll probably never play them again.

My wife asked me the other day what I was going to do with them after I buy into the next gen. Said I was going to put them in the new retro gaming room (spare bedroom). I was actually kind of joking but she thought it was a pretty good idea. Phew! :D

few of your mentioned reasons are why I'm in two minds the only games I know 100% I'm getting rid of is gta5 and pokemon y I've finished them both and know I won't play them again ever. Games like mass effect though I wanna keep just cause there amazing but know at same time it's just sat there :/

I'd rather keep them than get barely anything for them. Besides , sometimes an offer comes along like gamestop did with GTA 5 where I traded in 2 of those useless games and got GTA for a fiver. Better value for them.

I recently halved my 360 game collection by trading in around 50 games into Game, and walked out with a voucher for £194. They had to price match Computer Exchange on a lot of the games so I ended up with a pretty good amount of credit.

Yup, I had roughly 110 Xbox 360 games (some were free review copies from when I was a freelance journalist), and I knew I wouldn't play most of them again, so thought I'd get rid. Most of them weren't worth all that much, until Game had to price match them, then add an extra £1 per game. It soon added up.

I still have a fair amount of xbox games. I usually attempt to trade them in, but they offer like >£1 for the game most of the time, i usually traded after 2 or so years, so i do understand why.

i just prefer to keep them at that price. Sell the odd one if its worth a pretty penny.

I trade all mine in via Amazon trade-in. Far better than shops IMO.
But then I don't game that much these days so only ever have 1 game at a time physical.

So by the time I finish it, it's still worth about £25 after I only paid £30 or so for it. Essentially I'm renting them, but rental companies suck so this way gives me more control.
Recently, Kingdom Hearts HD cost me £20.99 on Amazon then I traded it a month later for £21.50 via Amazon trade-in. LOL

I only keep a game if it has >100 hours gameplay.

But yeah at something like £1.50-£2 a game I'd give em in a charity shop/bag.
