After following the tips and advice from a previous thread (http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?p=16635450&posted=1#post16635450) regarding my CoolIT Eco A.L.C. heatsink not working, I've ended up with the fan plugged into the SYS_FAN header and the pump recieving power from the CPU_FAN header, which is the opposite of what it tells you to do in the instructions.

Will this damage the pump or my system in any way? Anything I should be aware of?
Thanks in advance to any reply's.

thats got to be wrong, what if the bios decides to slow the cpufan header down because the cpu is nice and cool? surely you want a continuous pump speed? have you disabled features such as Cool n Quiet or Speedstep?

I've made sure to disable CPU fan control, making sure it runs at full speed (or in this case provide max power to the pump).

Is the only reason the pump should be connected to the SYS_FAN header because it provides a steady power supply? cause then by disabling the CPU fan control that should fix it right?

Thanks for the tips btw.

Thats right. Does but i think its better to connect the pump elsewhere and the fan to the cpu_fan header. That way it wont be at full speed all the time
