If you were in the position of being able to create a new Sports Channel dedicated to football, describe it from top to bottom.

- Who would present it?
- What football experts would be in the studio?
- Would you have any ad breaks?
- What would the studio look like?
- Would you have any additional cameras around the stadium during the match?
- Would there be in depth analysis after the match with interviews?
- Who would you have commentating on the matches?
- Would you put microphones all around the pitch to pick up players talking on the pitch?
- Would you broadcast the actual crowd chants regardless of content?
- Would you interview fans leaving the stadium after the match?
- Should there be a press conference after the match with both managers and referees present responding to questions from the media, or even fans ringing in?

I'll leave it up to you, those are just a few areas that you may want to look into. Think of all the inadequacies of the BBC, ITV, Sky and Setanta. How would your channel be different? Be creative, you can steal presenters from rival channels and remember that they are actual rivals to your channel.

Thought this would be an interesting idea for Sports Arena.

there would be no presenters, there would be no commentators, there would be no adverts it would come on 1 minute before the game, show the line up, maybe interview with managers, stats, replays and porn at half time, the end.

In general I don't think theres a single good commentator anymore, they all suck, all talk total nonsense. Pleat last night made me concider suicide, from his calling Clichey Cliche all night, to praising awful passing and bad tackles, to calling Song good, to misinterpretting everything wrong, and he's not the damn worst commentator.

Crowd noise maybe, fan zone maybe just because fans commentating are at least funny but have the crowd noise as a choosable option.

It would be £15 a month for the usual premiership games you get on sky and setanta, but you have the option of buying a single team season ticket for £30 that lets you watch all of your chosen sides game that like sky sports extra gives you the interactive choice of games to watch, standard or your game. or pay for a £200 a year season ticket and see any game you want.

- Who would present it? Richard Keys
- What football experts would be in the studio? Ian Holloway, Jimmy Bullard and Ron Atkinson, with Chris Kamara pitchside with reactions to all the major events throughout the match
- Would you have any ad breaks? Yes, so I can stretch my legs every so often
- What would the studio look like? Who cares
- Would you have any additional cameras around the stadium during the match? Cameras in the changing rooms, not for anything funny, just to see what goes on.
- Would there be in depth analysis after the match with interviews? Who cares
- Should there be a press conference after the match with both managers and referees present responding to questions from the media, or even fans ringing in? Who cares

- Who would present it? Richard 'Monkey Man' Keys
- What football experts would be in the studio? Tim Sherwood and Steve McManaman
- Would you have any ad breaks? Yes, loads.
- Who would you have commentating on the matches? Andy Gray and David Pleat
- Would you interview fans leaving the stadium after the match? Yes but only the drunk 'Pub talking' idiots.

One which shows every football game live and you can choose to watch any game live (from the Premiership, La Liga and maybe Italy, but mainly Spain and England)

- Who would present it? Richard Keys
- What football experts would be in the studio? Graeme Souness, Ruud Gullit
- Would you have any ad breaks? Yes, every 30mins
- What would the studio look like? Sky Champions League pundit studio
- Would you have any additional cameras around the stadium during the match? Ref cam. Strap a camera to his face.
- Would there be in depth analysis after the match with interviews? Yes
- Who would you have commentating on the matches? Andy Gray and Martin Tyler
- Would you put microphones all around the pitch to pick up players talking on the pitch? No because they sound like idiots and I hate swearing.
- Would you broadcast the actual crowd chants regardless of content? No because I hate swearing.
- Would you interview fans leaving the stadium after the match? No because I hate football fans.
- Should there be a press conference after the match with both managers and referees present responding to questions from the media, or even fans ringing in? Yes.

ok i did forget about Kamara so I'll take that back, Kamara on his own talking to himself asking himself questions and doing all the analysis. Then through Jimmy bullard in to celebrate all the goals.

If you put those 2 together too often i think Souness would kill Gullit. A couple of times when they've done the CL game together you could tell that Souness was close to heatbutting him :p

Presenter:

Ron Atkinson

Ad breaks:

Not your conventional ad break, but instead a group of hot cheerleaders wearing skin tight football kits prancing about to music of your choice. :D Failing that, Kirsty Gallacher doing pressups facing the camera for 10 minutes.

Studio:

Avoiding the minimalist approach the likes of ITV have, the studio to be inside the stadium (not the other side of the country nowhere near the action), also - overlooking the pitch from high up. And if some chavs think it's great waving behind the glass trying to distract the studio guests, imagine their horror when the window tilts in and Souness reaches out and smashes one of them over the head with an imitation Premier League trophy.

Additional cameras:

Cameras in the tunnel that viewers can switch to when the players are leaving the field. Additional cameras outside the changing rooms. More options for player cam and being able to select a number of players to watch in split screens. Maybe a camera option to watch the dugout area.

Post match analysis and interviews:

Good in depth analysis with fans ringing in (a bit like 606 phone in, but on tv).

Extra microphones:

Microphone on the referee and linesmen during the match to hear explanation for cards/decisions. Also to hear what players really say.

Stadium audio:

Option to turn off match commentary and listen to the atmosphere in the stadium as if you were there. Also be able to choose what part of the stadium you can listen from, home/away etc.

Fan interviews:

Not fussed but in certain games it would be interesting to get views and opinions of match travelling fans and how the match went from their part of the stadium. Did they see anything that wasn't caught on camera, etc.

Press conference:

Damn right, can you imagine a conference table with Ferguson on one side, Benitez on the other, and the referee in the middle. All discussing the match straight after it finishes. What's that rustling noise, eh Rafa stick that piece of paper back in your pocket...

ref cam, brilliant! a cap or something with a camera in it so you can see along their line of sight. along with mics of course. you could also fit one to wenger as god knows what he see's half the time.

if anyone even mentions Andy Gray I'm committing suicide...I don't think his comments for 5 year olds could irritate me any more...

-Show the whole match live (here's looking at you, ITV)
-Clyde Tyldesley or Martin Tyler commentating
-Big Ron as co-commentator (don't be fooled by his demeanour, he reads the game as well as anyone and usually highlights weaknesses before they're exploited). Funny guy, too.
-'Behind the ball' cam for penalties (SO much better than the default 'tv' camera view)
-Occasionally switch to that overhead cam like they did in the Milan derby the other week, that was awesome
-Don't show meaningless slow-mo replays of trivial off the ball incidents like players shouting, as they seem to in some countries
-James Richardson presenting the show, great call.
-Half-time entertainment consisting of Alan Shearer blasting the ball as hard as he can at Mark Lawrenson
-Some kind of "lino-cam" that shows what they see to play back following offside decisions
-Always have that radar thing up for freekicks near the goal telling you yardage, and showing how far the wall should be away
-Stop using that really crappy camera angle on the touchline when people are taking corners. It's low to the ground and you can't see bugger all so they always have to switch away the instant the balls been kicked. As if we've never seen anyone take a corner before anyway, big wow! I'd much rather see what's going on in the box.
-Extended post match analysis and discussion with a panel. Can make good viewing at times, and people can always switch off if they don't like it.
-Proper Fantasy Football, like it was on Radio5 with an auction, or when it first went on TV. I.e, less focus on comedy, more on teams that celebs/pundits have picked.

Who would present it? James Richardson Goes Without Saying, Jeff Stelling & Carmella Bing pitch side or in the tunnel (Just to keep the viewing figures up )

What football experts would be in the studio? I would have 3 ex-pro's and at least one current pro. Eric Cantona, Ruud Gullit, Alan Hansen & Jamie Carragher.

I once watched him on Andys Grays boot room and Andy Gray went on for ages about tactics. Eric pulled it apart within 30 seconds and Gray was left saying oooooooh...............:(. The latter one may surprise a few people but if you get past the broad accent, he really does have an excellent knowledge of the game and he reads it very well.

Would you have any ad breaks?Only at half time. Adds to be banned 10mins before and after the game on Channel L

What would the studio look like? I quite like the ones the Beeb do at the world cup or euros with the city scape in the background.

Would you have any additional cameras around the stadium during the match? I would have touchline cam just to see what the managers say to each other and the linesman

Would there be in depth analysis after the match with interviews? Yes

Who would you have commentating on the matches?BFR & Martin Tyler

Would you put microphones all around the pitch to pick up players talking on the pitchNope

Would you broadcast the actual crowd chants regardless of content? Dead right although The Emirates and Stamford Bridge might prove a bit fruitless :p

Would you interview fans leaving the stadium after the match? No. I think each week it will be the winning team talking about their team er winning and the loosing team blaming everyone for their defeat

Should there be a press conference after the match with both managers and referees present responding to questions from the media, or even fans ringing in?Not too comfortable with this as it suggests that the managers, players and refs are ultimately accountable to the fans and they are not.

I'll leave it up to you, those are just a few areas that you may want to look into. Think of all the inadequacies of the BBC, ITV, Sky and Setanta. How would your channel be different?
