Bacon to me is truly the salad of the meat world, you can add it to anything even a dysfunctional relationship to make it better.

chicken...yes, pizza...yes, birthday present...yes

But what's everyone favourite bacon, back/middle smoked/unsmoked?

Btw is is Saturday I am allowed to drink and think of bacon.

Who's cooking it?

If I do it in baking paper in the oven, smoked streaky.

If people cook bacon so any rind is still whiteish, they're wrong.

Middles the best. You get a lovely a bit of back and streaky in one go. Delicious. I wish more supermarkets sold it. It’s so hard to get now. When my dad had his market stall selling meat (before the days when you needed refrigeration), middle was by far the best seller.

Aldi sell some packaged middle but it's not the greatest version.

Any is fine with me, I like a bit of rind on it as well as well.
Cooking fried or grilled for me. Crispy or barely cooked is fine either way.

I used to live I Spain and they don't really sell bacon over there like we have it in the UK. They only really do streaky bacon.

Fry that up so it goes crispy and then shove a load of it in a baguette with some Avocado and it's a match made in heaven :D

Depends what I'm having it on / in.

Usually smoked.

If I'm having a bbq then it's streaky bacon.
If I'm making pancakes it's also maple bacon.

If I'm having a bacon sarnie, or bacon bagel, spag Bol, pasta & pesto then it's always back bacon.
Back bacon aswell if it's a full English.

Curing my own bacon is something I'd like to do some time.

I am always slightly puzzled by the look of "neat" bacon, as in the OP picture. It's like your brain has to mentally slice it for you to fully realise it is actually bacon .
