I just wanted to know what's yours favourite video player for Linux. I'm currently using VLC player, but the fact that I can't seem to get any controls when using fullscreen puts me off... I haven't found my favourite yet :)

I use mplayer, with the smplayer frontend. I used to use VLC but found smplayers GUI much nicer.
(also has fullscreen controls :p)

Yeah what's the deal with that. I moved to linux and was surprised to see hardly any video players had this feature.

VLC doesn't have audio for me so I have been using Totem but after seeing SMplayer I shall be using that now :)

Also Banshee 1.0 is now out and I think this is the audio player I will stick with.

Mplayer, at least, has no real need of on screen controls as virtually all it's functions are mapped to the keyboard. Much easier to hit the disable subtitles key, than faffing around with tools>options>subtitles>off ;)

I'll have to look at banshee, amarok is so windows it's useless.

PS: if anyone has their VLC keybindings mapped in an mplayer-esque manner........be a sport, post your config file ;)
