I've recently bought a 780Ti - Absolutely disgusting what we all pay for graphics cards now a days. However, there was a time when we all first started down this road of graphical excess and bought our first GPU.

So, list your first, favourite and worst GPU.

First GPU: Voodoo 2MB
Favourite GPU: Nvidia Riva TNT2
Worst GPU: ATI Rage Fury 32MB

I did actually love my ATI Rage Fury 32MB... But it was a difficult relationship ;).

First was a sapphire ultimate 5670 1gb ddr5. Favourite was my 7850 with a gellid icy vision 2 cooler because it had huge overclocking headroom. Worst was probably the 6950 as I sold it for the 7850 after it failed to unlock :).

First GPU: Can't remember but it was very early whatever was used with an Intel 80286 in the 1980's - probably none!
Favourite GPU: GTX 460
Worst GPU: AMD 7850

My first pc gpu was a matrox 1mb effort back in the early 1990s cost a small fortune
My favourite card I've ever owned was the original 9800 pro back in 2001. Card was a beast back then & would Overclock like nothing I'd ever had before.

Mostly in order:

Cirrus Logic GD5424 back in the days when benchmarking was seeing how fast the cards bounce down on Solitaire.
12meg Voodoo 3 -hell yeah. Quake! In high-res!
Zotac 9800GTX 768meg (very good for room heating in winter)
GTX260 (outdated when I got it. Poor.)
5870 & 5850 (awesome, last me years.)
Sapphire 7950- to present- love it.

The Zotac was a sickly child, so that was my worst.

First: ATI X1650
Favourite: 512mb 8800GTS
Worst: GTX 680

Had buyers remorse ever since I got my 680, upgraded from a 470 so should have been a big jump but the performance for the visuals it produces has never impressed me.

First dedicated 3D card was the first 3DFX Voodoo card you had to cross link with a 2D card amazing!
Favorite - ATI 9800 pro, it just seemed to go on forever at max graphics on all games
Worst - Cant say I have ever had a bad graphics card off either team, i'm gonna just go with the intel HD 2000, all the promises in the world and it was dog cac.

My favourite was my old 8800gtx. What a workhorse that was and really kept me going. The reference design was stunning when added to my htpc.

Don't really have a worst one!

Cant remember first
Best, 5870 reference over clocked it and it ran faultlessly for 3+years now its sitting in my media pc (only issue with a largish o/c it sounded like a reference 290x when ambient got up in the 30's)
Worst dont have one , Been pretty lucky with gpu's tbh

First: s3 virge 4mb
Favorite: nvidia 4800ti
Worst: ati 4870x2

I see a pattern with ati gpus rated the worst from peoples experiences :p

First: 8800gt SLI (faultless)
Favourite: above
Worst: GTX580 (it died literally days after warranty expired - **** palit, never again)

First, Leadtek 6800 gt
worst, xfx gtx 280, poor clocker and died after a few months.
Favourite, the first of my gigabyte wf gtx 670's. Overclocked to 1320/7586 and ran no higher than 67c on auto fan.

First:Geforce440MX
Favourite:7990 - Quiet, fast and extremely well built. Got it for a good price (£380) and sold it for £200 profit.
Worst:2900XT

First:Geforce440MX
Favourite:7990 - Quiet, fast and felt extremely well built. Got it for a good price (£380) and sold it for £200 profit.
Worst:2900XT

Slight deviation, but how quiet is the 7990 on air? I've been looking to replace my 7979 with one as they are dead cheap at the moment.

First: Voodoo 2
Best: 8800GTS 512 SLI - punched way over their weight, great cards
Worse: Can't say I bought a bad one tbh

First "proper" GPU was a GF2 MX-400, sure I had a Voodoo with the VGA passthrough too but can't be certain.

Favourite has to be either the Hercules 9800 Pro (complete with HL2!), or my current card - Gigabyte 780Ti WF3. Quiet and pumps out frames like no tomorrow.

Worst has to be the 7970 I've just moved from. Loads of power, loads of features but ran far too hot and too noisy and used too much juice, hit/miss with CF support and stability to boot. I was hoping for another 9800 pro, but alas not to be.
