Your first, favourite and worst GPU.

First: Voodoo Banshee
Best: ATI 5850 1GB - best price:performance ratio I ever had
Worst: TNT2 M64 32MB - good for me at the time but it was the worst TNT2 chip produced ;)

First - Diamond Voodoo 2 Monster 3D II Accelerator Card. It was an 'SLI' type arrangement and connected to my ARK Logic 2D VGA board externally via VGA cables.

Favourite GPU - Probably the 9800 Pro, just because it lasted so long.

Worst - X800XTPE. Just never really lived up to the standards I expected, then the DVI port broke, then the card died.

First: Radeon 4350 (was kinda new to the whole PC building at the time)
Favourite: EVGA GTX 480 /w reference cooler, performed amazingly and these heatpipes are sexy
Worst: MSI Gaming R9 270

Cant remember the 1st but my current one which is the best ive had so far r9 280 powercolor but my fav has to be powercolor r9 270x just looks like a beast and even has devil written to it

From what I've manage to glean about your experiences with those 295 cards in the past, I was under the impression that you rather liked them? :)

They would have been great if I had bought them a year earlier but were only 1 month away from obsolete when I did get them.

First GPU I owned myself was a 8800GTX. It was a beauty lol.

Current Favorite GPU is R9 290X Tri X OC. I like it so much I now have two. Was basically buy one get one free, so even better :-D

S3 Virge here as well.
Worst gpu was some crappy korean clone of gtx 260 ??? Don't remember exactly but it was horrible.
Best gpu so far is my current one, evga 780 sc.
Highest clocks with stock bios were 1267/7000 ( hynix memory ).

First: nvidia Vanta 16mb card. Not bad for the time when gaming in 16 bit colour at 800x600 was the norm!

Favourite: ATI 9700. Was so damn different to everything before it being the first dx9 card. It absolutely destroyed dx 8 titles too and didn't slow down on literally anything. Sure the drivers were terrible and the catalyst control centre never worked, but the card itself was superb.

Worst: Palit 3gb 580gtx. Insanely loud cooler which didn't even cool the card very well. Was forced into watercooling to stay sane. Vowed never to touch loud fan based cards from that point onwards.

Having to think now, Not had a huge amount over my time, but..

First: Matrox mystique 220 coupled with a Canopus Pure3d 6mb voodoo card

That was down to Chris R and WC: prophecy . the difference was astounding at the time ;)

Worst, Not really had one to be fair, although I did try a NV FX5200 for a bit, A truly dreadful card that was.

Best: Toss up between my last one and the one I've got now
Think I would have to go with the Gigabyte HD5870 I had until recently. Never had a problem in 4 or so years.

Current one is a 290x No problems with that ether but only had it 8 month ish so the 5870 won :)

First 3DFX Voodoo 3000

Worst ATi 6790 - awful in every respect, from performance to temps made me lose faith in AMD

Best - Nvidia 580GTX 3gb, mainly because I dumped my 6790's for these and never looked at AMD again.

First - Mx420

Best - 9800 pro

Worst - mx420 It's the lowest spec card i have ever had and was in the lowest spec PC i have ever had. Moved from this to the 9800 pro and my gaming on the PC was instantly changed.

I think it's great that the 9700-9800pro keeps popping up as people's best card.

I still remember getting mine and playing Farcry with nice fps...so beautiful lol.
