Following on from the threads on the game industry trying to stop re-selling/renting I looked at my own atachment rate to see how much they have lost from me. Purely 360 looking at xbox.com, not counting the ones I've deleted.

Curious to see how others break down.

Total played 155

Number of games you bought new 27
Number of games you still own 11
Number rented/bought 2nd hand/borrowed etc 90

XBLA or PSN titles bought 27

I think I can start to see why they are losing money. granted a lot of those titles I wouldn't have played had it not been for rental but in 4 years I've bought as many xbla games are retail.

How do you get those stats?

Edit: Ahhh I see.

Games Bought new: 16
Games Rented/bought 2nd hand:7
Games I still own: 14

That is 360.

Games Bought new: 2
Games Rented/bought 2nd hand:4
Games I still own: 4

PSN titles bought: 1

I usually buy most of my games on the day of release, so there are very few second hand games:

Xbox 360:
69 "must have" games, bought new on the day of release
3 bought second hand.
2 Xbox live Arcade
2 freebies
76 still own.

PS3:
8 bought new on release
1 freebie
9 still own

PC:
lost count :) ive got boxes of them in the loft from the last 17 years or so.

I only sell on games that i instantly dont get on with or just dislike.

Thats insane Buzza, you still own 76 games you bought

I'd rather sell to part fund the next ones, £2000+ you have sat on and most likely won't play again, wow.

Ive bought them over the life of the 360(5 years?) i just cant part with them :) especially the good ones(which is most of them). I guess im a bit of a horder. Besides they devalue quite quickly and are mostly worthless unless you sell shortly after buying and completing them.

I have a friend who literally has thousands of games from all platforms and a whole lot of consoles, he should set up a museum :)

I used to part with them, but these days, no more simply because I keep re buying games I enjoyed for random stints of fun :D. No idea how many games I have bought or where these stats are up...

But at the moment, I have 26 games on the shelf...

depends how you look at it
if you trade them then you lose loadss each time
if you keep them then you have something to show for it, even though the games will probably never be played again!
