Recently the OcUK Selection of gaming surfaces has been growing. We have re-introduced Qpad back into the selection due to their specialised hybratek coating. I use the Qpad HeatoN pad, not had any problems. Just wondering which pad you use and if you think it has improved you're gaming experience.

The pad itself has a dimension of incredible 43.5x36.5x0.35cm (17.12x14.37inch) which makes it almost impossible to slide off the edge. Previously you have only found such large pads made out of traditional cloth, but are now also available for all hard top fans out there. The surface is constructed in a 3 layer construction. Starting with a high quality cross weave rubber to make it stable on the table. The second layer is an abs plastic sheet to give it stability and weight. Corepad Cloth XXL. I love it - you never run out of mouse mat, as I can't physically reach beyond it

OcUK doesn't stock it though - you should.

Maybe the Goliathus? (Choose your size). The reason I didn't get a Goliathus is that they have Control or Speed versions and there was some differing opinions on what this actually meant.

Logically you would think the speed version is a very smooth surface for you to move your mouse quickly with less control but some said it's the other way around to suit your style i.e. Low sensitivity users should go for the speed and high sensitivty users should go for the control.....confused the hell outta me so I went for the Puretrak Talent.

There is a new Goliathus coming out, bigger version I will be stocking

I use the Steelseries SX, but frankly i need a bigger mat these days.

I play more low sense than i used to...


Anyone recommend a good largish mat for use with a G55?

Depends on how large. If you looking huge then boogie bug is the right choice for size and price. If your looking for slightly smaller the HeatoN based on the famous CS player is very good and big enough for people who use lower DPI.

As old as i am I've been through the mouse pad phase & realised there are better surfaces to use & better things to spend my money on. 30 odd quid for a pad, Come on.
I personally have never found anything better than an Allsops Bubble.

I used to use no mouse pad, with just wooden table. It did me well for years until I started competition gaming at Lans. The wood tables had such huge grain it was terrible. Ever since then I have used a mouse mat and found it better

This is exactly why I like this Corepad, I can't speak for the Boogiebug, but I've always had cloth mats so it works doubly as good for me.

Roccat Corepad ? I have just been looking into these. If you can recommend these I will stock a few See how they go

Don't forget the Puretrak Talent - I'll give you a mini review when I get it 21-27th but if I prefer it to the boogie then I reckon you should stock a few if poss. They're cheap and amazing from the review I've read as I said earlier - proof is in the pudding though....

Is it worth it?

I said before that I didn't use a mouse mat for many years about 4 - 5. Never thought I needed to at all, until I went playing cod4 at lans in competitions on some horribly grainy wood and broken pieces, a mat came in handy. Since then I have realised it is better because of the consistency of the surface. A desk might be ok for your day to day jobs but in games, it's serious business, remember the Quake 3 days when rail gun had to be bang on. Welcome to the Quake Live days where not a lot has changed

I see no reason why you couldn't cut it down. But the comparison is the heatoN is hard top with the hybratek coating. My xai glides over nicely, I have not actaully tried the Boogie Bug but im sure plenty of these people have for opinions
