and currently have no Gfx card but have just ordered a 4GB 480.

What stands out to me is that nothing has come close to the improvement of the first 3dfx accelerated Quake in OpenGL at 1024x768!

MSI GTX460 1GB Cyclone
Gigabyte GTX480SE 1.5GB (which was far too hot and loud for my liking so...)
MSI GTX560 1GB TFII

And we have a winner!

I know I dabbled with 3DFX and Voodoo cards "back in the day", but how the hell can you remember all of those. Kudos to you!

The ATI 9700 Pro, a personal favourite of mine. :)

Not many, only started building my own PC in 2015 aside from the small X800XL years back.

2005-2006: X800L (Replaced OEM card)
2006 - 2014 - Intel Laptop iGPU's
2014- 2015 - Laptop GTX 660M
2015-2016 - 3 x Titan X
2016 - current 3 x GTX 1080's

Secondary HTPC built in 2015 and still in use had the Fury X, Fury and now settled on Nano.

Jeez, that's quite the leap from the 660M to triple Titan X's.

Quick question - what do you use the third 1080 for given only 2-way SLI is supported?

Sadly, I only started paying enough attention when I began to build my own a few years ago.

SLI 670
SLI 970
1070 coming as a stop-gap (had enough of SLI)
1080Ti planned
