Your graphics card history tree?

Last 10 years or so it's been

4830
5850
7950
290
vega 56
3060Ti
9070xt

My fav was the 290 or 5850, great cards. I bought the 9070xt recently but have hardly gamed on it at all.

My first PC which was a hand me down had I think a NVIDIA 7600 in it. The first GPU I bought for myself was a 1060 6GB in 2017. I replaced it this year with a 5080.

Dell RTX 3080
RX 6700 XT
FE 3070 Ti
RTX 3060
Nvidia T400
EVGA 3060 Ti
A2000 6GB (1st of 2, I eventually killed it)
RX 6900 XT
ASUS 3070 (water-blocked)
RTX 4070 Ti
RTX 4070
A2000 6GB (2nd of 2, I also killed it)
Reference 3080 (water-blocked)
Lenovo 3080 Ti - still owned
RX 9600 XT
RX 5080 - still owned

I keep switching things up to try new builds - including a lot of very small SFF builds, water cooled builds, and so on. That is why the list (which is broadly in the correct order) switches back and forth as I was pursuing a particular project. All of this in 5 years. Eek. Oof. Urgh.

Console gaming
980 Ti
1080 Ti
Back to console gaming - the 20 series cards never interested me
3090
4090
5090

If 6090 ASUS, MSI cards etc are over £3000 I’ll likely go back to console gaming. Although GTA 6 could temp me to buying another PS5 pro….

Skipped the 4xxx and 5xxx series so far but on the lookout for a worthy replacement to the 3080. Hopefully at RTX 5080 TI/super comes in at a sensible price point.

Update: Since I last posted here 7 years ago

HD4850
HD5450
HD6870 (Faulty)
1GB HD7850 & the card I have now, the 2GB version.

I'm keeping this card until it either goes pop, or I decide to build a HTPC with HDMI 2.0 for 4k (If I'm daft enough to believe the hype & buy a display for said resolution)
Another Update: (10 years on) not many since then, They are/were:

GTX 780 B' grade (Faulty, RMA'd)
Asus GTX 950 (Replacement for the above)
A couple of 2GB MSI RTX 960's (one was free via my sister's eldest boy)
RX 470 (was in my sister's youngest boy's rig, I got it when I overhauled his rig 3 years ago, he's now got a RX6700)
RX570 (was in my sister's eldest boy's rig, I got it when I did a minor upgrade last year, he's now got a RTX4060)

Sold the last two cards at the end of last year, the proceeds went towards another RTX 4060, which is current.
