I was just thinking about who I'd have in my ideal band. Don't worry about musical styles clashing or what have you.. I just want to know who would be in your dream line up of musicians.

For me it would be:

Guitar: Jimi Hendrix
Bass: Jack Bruce
Drums: Ginger Baker
Vocals: Marc Bolan

But also I'd have this..

Guitar: Eric Clapton
Bass: Mick Mofatt (mate of mine as no other famous bassist takes my fancy)
Drums: Keith Moon
Vocals: Bon Scott

Also.. Name you're band as you see fit :p.

Robert Plant
Jimi Hendrix
Joe Satriani
Robert Trujillo (for now, a difficult choice for me)
Neil Peart

Guitar: Roine Stolt
Bass: Pete Traweras
Drums: Mike Portnoy
Piano/Others: Neal Morse

Oh wait, that's Transatlantic :p

Seriously;
Guitar: David Gilmour
Bass: Pete Traweras
Drums: Mike Portnoy
Piano: Jordan Rudess

Drums: Brian Chase/Matt Tong/Tre Cool
Guitar: John Squire
Guitar: Nick Zinner
Bass: Dave Hernandez
Vocals: Ben Kowalewicz/Regina Spektor/Greg Gilbert

Vocals: Daniel Gildenlow
Guitar: Guthrie Govan
Bass: Tony Levin
Drums: Mike Portnoy/Neil Peart (Can't decide!)
Keys: Jordan Rudess

Guitar/vocal: Rivers Cuomo
Lead Guitar: Tom Morello
Bass: Flea
Drums: Tre Cool

/edit: I chose band members who I thought would be able to put on a good show now (so excluded dead and past it musicians)

We did this about two years ago and I got flamed for my choices but here you go -

Robert Plant - Vocals
Jimmy Page - Guitar
John Bonham - Drums
John Paul Jones - Bass
Keith Emerson - Keyboards

Okay...would this be classed as a 'band'?

RJD2 collaborating with Coldcut on the production with Cee-Lo and Mr.Lif on vocals.

Damn that **** would be funky. :p

Not a dream band as such, but something i'd love to hear none the less. :D

Vocals - Daniel Gildenlow (Pain of Salvation)
Guitar - Mikael Akerfeldt (Opeth)
Guitar - Jon Schafer (Iced Earth)
Bass - Justin Chancellor (Tool)
Drums - Vinnie Colaiuta (Session/Greatest Drummer Ever)

That'd just be great.

Guitar: Slash
Vocals: Chris Cornell
Bass: Flea
Drums: John Bohnam/Dave Grohl

I feel Dave might fit in a bit better with the style, but you can't beat Bonzo

Guitar/Vocals : James Dean Bradfield
Lead Guitar : Jimmy Page
Bass Player : Mani
Drums : Has to John Bonham as he micturates on all other drummers from a considerable height.
Triangle : Me (Well it's my ideal band, so I want in on the action!) :D

Except for Vinnie Colaiuta. And Danny Carey. And Dave Weckl. And Sean Reinert. And Gene Hoglan. And... Well, you get the picture

That is, of course, merely my opinion.

Doesn't stop it being fact though :D

Guitar: Kirk Hammet
Guitar: Slash
Drums: Lars Ulrich
Bass: Cliff Burton
Vocals: Hetfield

well you can all guess where it comes form but the music produced by old skool metallica with the added infusionof slashes guitar would be awesome :p

But only my opinion (and those of people who agree with me) counts, didn't you get the memo? Besides the fact that Bonzo could achieve more on the drums with his right foot then other drummers could do with their whole body. And also, dmpoole picked him and he knows his onions.

Nicko McBrain and Jojo Mayer could probably outplay him on a single pedal (not counting the fact that Bonham's dead.

Again, just my opinion though.

Also, this forum could do with some sarcasm tags
