It made me INCREDIBLY lazy. Got a wake-up call when .Net 1.1 came out and I was forced to actually "do things properly" again.

Haskell. Useless..

Although I really don't like it, I wouldn't say it's useless. Although I'm useless with it, I'm sure someone who understands it could do some very powerful and cool things with it.

Java followed by the MS Visual lang's - sometimes you don't want it to control what you're doing and just let you exploit the language it's supposedly based on!

D'you mean C# et al? If you want to exploit the features of C++ then just use C++ Alternatively, if all you need is pointers, then C# lets you use them if you really must!
